I know they got 6 years, but we are in win-now, and in 3+ years after we lose Seguin, Benn, Marchment, etc, and the cap rises, that $5.75M/$5.5M for Roy/Pesce won't even be noticeable even if they do turn into Suter 2.0

Smith at 1 Mio. is fantastic. At that kinda money he's always trade- or waiveable. It's also just a one year deal so really no risk involved. Smith can even play forward if needed. This signing does give the Stars a lot of flexibility.
