I'm assuming there's an ask from Shattenkirk's camp of a 5th year from the Rangers, and the Rangers are demanding a lower AAV if he's going to get an extra year.

$6.9M per for 4 or $6.5M for 5. Something like that. But if the Devils are offering $7M per for 7, then the Rangers are asking him to leave almost $20M all the table in the first scenario.

If he truly cared about money tell him to go to Jersey...
