So you're talking about Stamkos?
Stamkos was particularly bad in the ECF.

Did you see his game 7 disappearing act?

I never said the rest of the team didn't drop the ball too, but I'd expect ppg forwards to do more of the heavy lifting in pivotal moments where the team needs a goal.Yes.
I also saw the rest of the team other than Point do the same thing.
Source?Yzerman and Dorrion are still waking up. Haven't had coffee yet.
As for Duclair, I think if we could have gotten him for the price CBJ got him for, it would have been zero risk, so why not?
We might have tried. Duclair was traded out of NY. He maybe didn't want to come back here because of it.
The difference between Callahan and Ryan is that Cally is a great locker room leader and presence and Ryan is lazy. If I have to eat a contract, I’ll take the leader to show young players how it is done.4 years of Bobby Ryan will cost more than 2 years of Ryan Callahan.
The benefit of Ryan over Callahan is you are getting an actual productive NHL'er in return.
The benefit of Callahan over Ryan is shorter term and a player that can show youngsters in the Org what you can accomplish with hard work and limited skills. Imagine what you can do when you have skill AND a great work ethic.
Personally I think it's more likely that Ryan gets back to being a 20/20 guy than it would be for Callahan to ever stay healthy for a full season (conceding both are unlikely)
Ryan with retention can be moved again. Callahan is toast
Except we had Hank and they have Stamkos, Kutcherov, Hedman a bevy of young guns and a damn good farm... the 2014 NYR were nothing like that.We were in the same position not too long ago.
Boy, did everything go quiet on the Karlsson front.
Just glancing at the main boards they think nothing is happening today because he’s at Methot’s weddingBoy, did everything go quiet on the Karlsson front.

NYR didn't win a cup though. My point was merely that they're going to have MANY runs at it and we had one. They didn't make it and have yet (apparently) to nab Karlsson. They made it to the finals unlike last years super duper Tampa team.
Adding EK is a larger (ok much larger) scale version of when we added Yandle. That super deep farm is going to be much thinner after the moves they will have made for McDonagh and EK (assuming it eventually goes through.)
The point is when you're in a position to go for it, you go for it. Zero ****s should be given about the "future" when your future is the present.
Thats what the Rangers did and what it looks like Tampa is doing. Anyone who thinks that this is going to look good for Tampa in 4-5 years is fooling themselves but if they win a cup or 2, they won't care.
I saw where he said the Rangers don’t like the return right now so maybe someone else jumps in.Eklund said rangers are getting Kucherov Lmfao. That is totally absurd.
Yeah kinda seems that way. And with their showing last year with probably the best roster in the playoffs I wouldn’t be too confident with them winning in any 1 year window even with karlsson
There’s always a chance Smith can be rehabilitated and moved. Staal’s contract is sunk money at this point. We can worry about Staal/Smith when were ready to compete more and their contracts will be more easily moveable
