If we pay Lindholm it will be a big mistake he is 30 years old and coming off a 40-point season you do not pay him 7 million plus if you do that and you pay swayman most of your cap money is gone

$4,500,000 x 4 is $18,000,000 in the bank for him and then he could retire. He doesn't solve the C problem though he just replaces DeBrusk.IMO , quite a bit. He’s still a force out there. I’d try to get him for 3 years or 4 if must be.

Let's say the Lighting offered him $3,000,000 x 8 knowing he'd retire at 38. That would be them offering $12,000,000 total until he hits 38 and then retires.
So Boston offers $4,500,000 x 4 years. He gets $18,000,000 at 38. Seems like a much better offer but only if he is the DeBrusk replacement.
