Trading for Burns gives me Toronto going for Giordano, Spezza and Thornton vibes. Over the hill and over paid.

If SJS take back Zaitsev (4.5M x 2 years) and retains 1.5- 2M on Burns (6-6.5M x 3 years), it would be more easy to swallow. I'd do that straight up, even without a sweetener on their end.

How are done deals completed before the market opens? Is it just secret tampering?

In what world were Giordano and Spezza overpaid in Toronto? If anything they were vastly underpaid for what they brought.

That Campbell deal to Edmonton looks terrible.

5 years at 5M?

Based on what? 9 months of good goaltending?

It’s Nurse all over again.

Oilers and Leafs both gambling on goalies in prime contention years.

I guess for the Oilers it was pretty tough to do worse. Anybody would be better than what they have, even if Campbell disapoints.

I'm not a size queen by any means, but my god do the Devils ever have a tiny forward group going forward:

Hughes: 6'1, 175lbs
Mercer: 6'0, 180lbs
Holtz: 6'0, 192lbs
Hughes: 5'11, 175lbs
Bratt: 5'10, 175lbs
Gaudreau: 5'9, 165lbs

And most of those numbers and inflated too
I like our top six against that in a playoff series. Turn those smurfs into a blue paste.
