Proposal: Free agency edition Trade Rumours/Proposals [MOD - Stay on Topic] 5

Yea, I take JT Miller for sure.

EP has the ability to be a top 5 C every season in the league. He just doesn't dedicate himself to it.

Also, if you watch the PP, it runs through JT (after Quinn).

And he's 3.6 million cheaper. It's an absolute no brainer.

Boudreau was asked about Miller

Said he had to have some conversations with him about not having to be the "sword" all the time, that he was always the guy organizing events, has a temper but hasn't seen many players with a higher desire for things to be done right.

I can see how he'd rub some people the wrong way from what Boudreau was saying, would likely be a great addition short term for a team with cup aspirations,

feels like Brady is a happy go lucky type of guy, while Miller is a competitive asshole MJ type of guy.

I doubt Miller would be scared about getting on Brady, and I doubt Brady would be able to take it well.
Yeah the "ultra competitive asshole" thing works when you're Tom Brady or Kobe Bryant. Miller is good but he's no hall of famer and hasn't won shit, so I don't know where he gets off (allegedly) bullying his teammates.

They could always play Stu with Giroux & Tkachuk that way Stu has someone to make room for him out there or they could put him in the middle of the two vets who both have scored a lot of goals in the NHL in Perron & Giroux.

Perron is signed for next yr so they have to do something with him & Amadio who seems to have some chemistry with Greig & Pinto on the 3rd line is signed for another two seasons. If all these guys could start producing now, this would be the time to push for a playoff position. We need Perron & Amadio to start putting up some pts & making a difference.

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson ---------------- Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux :thumbu:
Perron - Stutzle - Giroux --------------------- Perron - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Amadio ----------------------- Greig - Pinto - Amadio
I don't mind it for the time being. I do think they have in house enough to compete for a playoff spot, but long term, if they want to do damage, I think it's a role that needs to be filled. Feels like in house they're just that little bit short up front.
Agreed. Though I'll continue to say I think Norris on a wing helps the top 6. Him with Tkachuk and Pinto, Timmy with Giroux and Bath.

Grieg centers 3, Ostapchuk 4.
I've wanted them to try this all year. I do like Norris at center, but I think this is worth trying out. Could end up being lightning in a bottle, you never know.

Would certainly be an interesting guy to pair with Batherson whose motor seems to run hot and cold.

I’m not going to get too worked up or involved in Miller or Pettersson trade talks. When it comes to Ottawa as a destination for this kind of thing, usually these things just blow over.

Here’s a light hearted skit. Try to not take this seriously.

Day 1: Norris has an albatross contract.

Day 2: Norris & JBD for Pettersson.

Day 3: Norris & Sogaard for J.T. Miller

Pagnotta doubled down on his Petey and Ottawa being interested rumour on todays Coming in Hot. Stating that other teams are saying Ottawa is interested in him and that Norris is still on the block and would be involved to make the trade work.

I honestly think Pagnotta just makes things up based on info that’s already out there.

- Seravelli and Garrioch have said we’d like to move Norris
- Pettersson is available
- Pagnotta links them together

I can't see the value in us acquiring Pettersson here. It's a lot to gamble on him returning to his offensive best seasons under Green, and reeks of believing a lot in the coach and it being a bad situation.

If they pull the trigger on it I'll be happy to be wrong but man I just don't see it right now.

Slow and steady Steve. Pierre Dorion would have gotten it done already, picks and prospects be damned!

I guess if we're comparing to the Duchene trade it'd be something like...

Norris, Unprotected 1st, 3rd, Eliasson & Forsberg.

He was on CiH today and said what he's heard isn't from Ottawa or Vancouver, but that "other teams believe the Senators have sniffed around". Even if he's not making it up, that's pretty weak so maybe/probably not something Sens fans need to worry about in all honesty.

It's only his price tag that bothers me, but if I would gamble on Pettersson.

He has loads of talent, but seems to be in a bad situation. Getting him here with some young guys, with a great culture, plus Alfie and Ullmark, could be the tonic he needs.

At this point I guess I don't see any reason to NOT take a gamble on one of the most skilled players in the game. It's not like we have anything to lose other than some cap space.

We definitely "need Perron & Amadio to start putting up some pts & making a difference"! I am not confident that they will make a significant difference.

I’d take JT over EP40…he’d fit better. The main reason those two have issues is EP40 doesn’t work as hard as he should. That’s why JT has an issue. You’re paid like a top player, now work like one, act like one, take control, be more assertive, act like you care and want to win. If EP showed more care and want, JT wouldn’t be on his ass. JT knows how talented EP is, but hates the lack of desire to be great. It’s almost like EP is ok w where he’s at. JT wants to get better everyday, every practice, every game…he wants to win, he wants to be perfect and that’s where the difference is. He also admitted he has a temper, but it’s cause of one thing…winning. Anyway, Brady is very similar to that and that’s why I think him and JT would mesh better.
The coaching staff should be making the point with Pettersson! If Pettersson is "uncoachable" then he should be traded. It seems that Miller is a bit of an asshole!
