For anybody who needs a hit from fake sources for their Sens Twitter account, say that the Sens are investigating the possibility of putting in a claim on Tony DeAngelo because of the rash of injuries on their backend.

You have to leave it open ended though, maybe say that they are concerned about getting up to 50 contracts, and are looking into the possibility of dumping an AHL player if the claim is successful.

That way, you can backtrack if they don't claim him.

If Staios claims Tony D, he has zero regard for character and team chemistry. You have to be smoking the good stuff to take a chance on a guy who's burned as many bridges as Tony D, including the flipping KHL

It's a short term rental essentially but in terms of him being on his best behaviour, it really depends on if they get Anthony or Tony. There's a big difference.

I’ve heard he’s a fine teammate if you are white.

It’s just how much of a chance do you want to take on Miller who seems like he comes with some baggage and to upgrade Milker over Norris, Milker is the better player but I don’t know chemistry, term wise, age it’s worth it.

Ottawa needs Norris AND Milker not one or the other, so it’s an improvement but not sure if I roll the dice on Miller when he has recurring issues. Ottawa doesn’t have enoguh offense but they have great chemistry, Miller would completely change the locker room not sure it’s the best idea
"Great chemistry"??!!

They are 5 - 7 in 2025. Been outscored 31 - 22, and shut out 5 times...

What f***ing chemistry??!!!!!!

Norris out, Miller in only - ONLY - makes this team better.

And just to clarify, I'm not a big fan of Miller. But holy shit in a handbag, I hope Staios isn't predicating trades on "feelings" at this point.

There's basically no way we aren't on every No Trade list out there. Our org was a gong show with a bad reputation for years.

The only reason Miller is available is because of “feelings” why else would a guy who got 103 points last year and had Vancouver on the edge of something special would be available? don’t discount the importance of chemistry and the commitment this group of players has made to win together, miller in yes, just not at the expense of any of the core guys so I wouldn’t include Norris, Greig, Kleven, Pinto, Batherson in a trade

EXACTLY
The country club ruling the team has to end at some point
Chabot and Tkatchuk ask Dorion for help
They got some good players to help and it didn't amount to squat
Andlauer must be so delighted to pay a guy 8mm$ for 27 points (Norris) lol
There are 46 players with .95 PPG + in the league
None is a Sens
Chabot is the 17th highest salary for a D and is 59th in PPG for D
Pinto is 275th salary 315th in PPG
I mean its all fun and all to underperform but at some point maybe it would be fun for them to finally make the PO

If you sign him, it's a one year deal and you basically tell him one transgression and it's off the Belleville, so it's in his best interest to just keep his head down and play hockey.

I think with that type of understanding he could, short term, stay out of trouble.

The bigger question for me is whether his style of play can fit in here, because he's the exact opposite of what we're preaching

The biggest issue I have with this is that you consider Norris a member of the core group.

So obvious that he is an anchor.

For a team that's done mostly nothing but lose over the years, the resistance to major change in general sometimes is a bit perplexing. They've never had a successful season together yet. Doesn't mean you go out and make a bad deal, but seriously, basically anyone should be on the table and any emotional attachment amongst the players should be ignored imo.

I don't think it's realistic to call a guy that can score 30+ goals for you, win draws, and play a two way game is an anchor, he's overpaid sure, but he's still a useful player, this isn't Zaitsev,

Is he a core player? Not unless he bounces back and gives us more offense, but with how fast the cap seems to be going up I don't see his contact being a big deal moving forward if he can give us 30g and 50+ pts.

Trade him if the right deal is available, keep him if it isn't, the last thing we should do imo is rush to get out of his deal just for the sake of change.

I agree, he is good. Just not good enough to warrant the contract and that is what makes him an anchor. At $6M/yr I'd be happy to keep him (on the wing, getting kicked out of 40% of faceoffs and winning half those he stays in for). But guys like Norris, with contracts like his are what will prevent this team from going to the next level.

Rantanen to Carolina takes a team away from Vancouver.

Friedman has been very good today. First he hinted at the Obama/Jennifer Anniston stuff before it leaked to the press, then he talks about JT Miller and Green. I'm thinking the Rantanen trade is a domino, and we sell Vancouver relent and make a bad deal for Miller before the market completely collapses on them. I wonder how Norris will look in blue?

The "oh we might actually trade Pettersson instead because people are being so mean and not offering us good stuff for Miller" seems like a last ditch leak to try and drum up some leverage. I'm guessing it came from whoever their Garrioch is.

The Canucks are 3 points out of a WC spot. They aren't in a position to let this drag on as a distraction and possibly torpedo their season. It wouldn't surprise me if we see them move Miller this weekend now that one of the teams is out.
