If they are going to make a trade it’s got to be for a player in the higher end just because the depth at the lower need for F, D and G is there for the team we see that throughout the lineup each night, need a top 4 D or a top 6 F. A depth guy to me just added more of what we already have.

The lowering value of the Canadian dollar is a factor too for the owner and his ability to pay players' salaries in US dollars.
A Canadian dollar is worth U.S. 69 cents. Or, 1 dollar U.S. is worth $1.45 Canadian. The Canadian dollar is much weaker versus the U.S. dollar lately than it used to be.

It will have an impact on Canadian teams. Not sure how (or if) this will impact the salary cap, but it's something (worthwhile) to keep in mind.

It always amuses me that a Sens "fan" can have watched Timmy's immediate improvement from a good player to an elite player the moment he was moved to center on this team, advocate moving him back to the wing.
Who' advocating for that? Norris on the other hand, the guy I'm told is an "elite" center, him I'd like to see on the wing.

Well this is amusing,

I don't think anyone here has ever said Norris is an elite center, certainly not since his return from his shoulder injuries, but we definitely have a poster advocating for Stü on the wing

I do think trying Norris on the wing could be a worthwhile experiment, putting him with Stü would seem to be a good match as it adds a defensively responsible shooter with speed to a dynamic center.

Indeed am with you on the switch Norris to put him on Stu wing .I think it's only way to get Norris to his scoring prowess.Pinto is ready to take Norris spot i would try lines like these for a while see if they can build chemistry.

Tkachuk-Stu-Norris
Cousins-Pinto-Batherson
Goalette/Amadio-Grieg-Giroux
Goalette/Amadio-Ostapchuk- Who cares

I know Cousins is high but he playing really well for us , add a front net presence to that line and has some chemistry with Pinto.

If 1st line works we can add piece that takes cousins spot or Amadio/Gaudette

Who told you Norris was elite. He’s good but elite centres are paid in the 11.5M+ range
I'd have to go back through posts I've made since the beginning of the season when I've advocated for Norris to be moved to the wing and look at who posted the replies telling me that it's foolish to move an elite center to the wing. Not sure I'm that invested in this to do that. I'm content that there are more folks feeling the same way I do about moving Norris to the wing.

He's a left shot. Would you put him on the left or right side? Maybe answer in the Norris thread?

His contract is up this year. What is he going to demand? 8 million? He is far too inconsistent with injury history and weak defensively.

Not smart investment at all. I'd rather Bjorkstrand 10000%

Boeser looks like a Bobby Ryan 2.0 to me.

A guy we’d invest in significantly only to be almost immediately disappointed by the return.

Not great but I'd love to see it

It's a no brainer of a line-up, imo. I am shocked we are not seeing it after scoring 5 goals in last 3 games.

And 15 in our last 11 games (minus the Pitts game).

That's a horrendous 1.36 GPG. We need to adjust.

With Pitts game it's 1.8.

In that same time frame, we have let in 26 goals in 12 games (I counted Pitts for advantage).

That's 2.16 GAG.

12 is a big sample size, especially since that's been playoff level hockey.

We are asking for serious trouble.

10 of our next 14 are against playoff teams.

We also got 7 out of 8 points during the last 4 games.

I’m not incredibly surprised that the lineup hasn’t changed.

Brother, Leevi has posted a .950 SV%, 2 shutouts and less than 1.5 SV% in those starts.

He is a SIGNIFICANT reason for those wins with phenomenal performances.

Our offense has been dry as ****, and the eye test is indicative of that. Norris, Tkachuk, Gaudette all have been very average or just non-existent offensively.

5 points among them ALL in last 5 games. That's 3 of our top 6.

Heck, Stutzle and Batherson have a combined 5 points among them too in last 5 games. Just not good enough.

It's our defense and goaltending that has looked phenomenal.

I don’t disagree but you know how the forward lines have looked when shuffled.

Norris can’t play if he’s not with Bath and Brady.

Green shuffled the lines multiple times and it might work for a game and look bad for the next 2.

We need a good middle 6 forward who can come in a bring some depth. Until then there will always be 1 or 2 lines not clicking offensively.

Tkachuk Stu Gaudette ( Batherson)
5m-6m? Norris Batherson Gaudette)
Greig Pinto Giroux ( at 3.5)
Get rid of Perron somehow use his 4m to get a 5 to 6m left winger for the second line
