Watching that game last night made me think about Weegar again. Man I wish Ottawa could pry him out of there. Would happily include Norris in a deal for him and sacrifice Zub to make room.

Should have made a push for him back before they aqcuired Chyc. Was some chatter around Weegar at the time.

He would have been a much better fit, that's for sure and he signed for a very reasonable AAV even if it goes a bit too long. Might be my favorite player in the league atm.

I love how how you throw Ceci into everything. Having a beer...use the Ceci Cozy to keep it cool. Car break down in buttfcknowhere?.....Call Ceci Towing. Firing up the grill?...Don't forget Ceci BBQ Spice.

It's more confirmation bias because he is an attainable trade piece that fills the exact role we are looking for and is likely to be made available.

Obviously, I could be like man wouldn't it be great if we traded Josh Norris for Devon Toews, and everybody could compliment me for picking a great trade target.

I'm not even sure why people keep accusing me of being such a big Ceci fan.

Looked more like his timing was off rather than a complete inability to one-time the puck. If he couldn't one-time a puck for whatever reason, why would he even be attempting to in the first place?

More to the point, why is he even on the PP if he can't shoot?

Weegar would be a great addition, and even with Zub out as part of the deal I think it could work well. We would be betting on Pinto though.

No way in hell do the Flames make a deal for Weegar unless we send someone much better than either Norris or Zub their way. In fact I think it would take someone like Chabot for them to consider it.

I would need to see his goals again to refresh my memory, but I'm pretty sure only one of them was a one-timer (I should have specified that I mostly meant his ability to one-time), and wonder how many of the others were deflections, tips or tucking in a rebound from up close? Valuable for sure in general, but not what you would want from him on PP1, when you already have Brady there...

The also have stats for Snap and slap, not sure which a one timer would fall under but he apparently hasn't even had one slap shot (at least, one that was on net) so I would think snap?

I think ultimately what happens would come down more to what Weegar wants, but I agree Norris on his own definitely isn't enough.

The team not being total shite doesn't really bode well for it though. He's said he wants to stick it out and not bail.

Trade would be so much easier to make if they were in a playoff spot.

Making a trade now to only end up at the same spot is a very tough trade to make

I was thinking he was suggesting both, which tbh seems like a pretty fair deal if you think Norris is over the injury bug. Might have to add a pick or retain a touch.

Yes, was thinking either Zub included, or in a subsequent trade to then flip to Calgary something else along with Norris. Don't think Norris is enough on his own.
