If Norris is worth almost nothing on the trade market, then I suppose a question to ask is why would the Jackets do this? Jiricek is disgruntled, so CBJ would accept scraps, and other teams would not offer much of anything for a good, cost controlled prospect? I guess that’s the theory, but it seems like a stretch of credulity. It could make more sense if they think Jiricek just isn’t that good maybe.IF #9 is the one on the block, then:
Josh Norris (7.95M x 6) + Jacob Bernard-Docker (800K x 1) to CBJ for David Jiricek (915K x 2) + Kevin Labanc (775K x 1)
- CBJ gets their impact forward, has loads of cap space to absorb Norris' contract and ships out their disgruntled prospect in the process.
