Lindgren is awful no f***ing thank you. Kakko, Schneider, Perreault, and a 1st for Tkachuk and JBD, or Lafreniere, Schneider, and a 1st for Tkachuk and JBD.

No way the Rangers do that. Heck, I wouldn't do Laf for Tkachuk if I was them. That would be fantastic for us though

The first one makes more sense but this is more a rebuild package, need to trade Brady for quality. Maybe trade him for Marner. Leafs would do that and while people would complain about Marner and the playoffs, I mean we are desperate to get there at this point.

1. Michael Amadio (2.6M x 3) + Travis Hamonic (1.1M x 1) + 2025 2nd round pick to ANA for Trevor Zegras (5.75M x 2)

2. Claude Giroux @50% (3.25M x 1) + Nick Cousins (800K x 1) to COL for Calum Ritchie (950K x 3) + 2026 1st round pick

3. Brady Tkachuk (8.2M x 2) + Nick Jensen (4.05M x 2) to LA for Quinton Byfield (6.25M x 5) + Brandt Clarke (865K x 2) + 2026 1st round pick

These deals are very lopsided in Ottawa's favor

1. Amadio might already have negative value, paying a 3rd to "get rid" of joseph and then sign that contract was a Dorion-level bad move. Hamonic has no value as well. Zegras for a 2nd? No chance

2. Giroux and Jensen are good vets but Ritchie is a top prospect, a highly competitive 2-way forward with skill. Plus that 1st... That said, it's the closest among the 3 proposals

3. No chance Tkachuk could return Byfield and Clarke. I mean, if Staios can pull that out, I'd build a statue for him

What does Nashvilles prospects look like? Not what we could use, just what they got? No picks either. They got lots of those.

He is the best player who is better than him, he has led this team in scoring 4 of the last 5 yrs & seems to lead this team in almost every other category. If you want to shake things up trade Stutzle.
Lead the team in scoring, and has somehow been a minus every year but 1.

I'd settle for less goals for, and way less against. Guy can't f***ing play defense to save his life. 40 goals don't matter if you're on the ice for 50 against.

It's time to get ridiculous.
Alright. Here you go. I need help with the details. It's Sunday and people are doing Sunday things, so they can help later. I read somewhere that Nashville is looking for a LD.

Nashville - Chabot from Ottawa
Ottawa - Karlsson from Pitt, Lauzon from Nash
Pitts - Zub from Ottawa, pick/prospect (a pick and prospect or pick ×2, it would be Zub and 2 things) from Nash
4th team - retains 2m on Karl and gets a pick/prospect package from Nash/Pitts/Ott

Ottawa - in - Lauzon and Karlsson
-out - Chabot, Zub, pick/prospect

Nash - in - Chabot
-out - Lauzon, picks/prospects

Pitts - in - Zub, picks/prospects
- out - Karlsson, picks/prospects

4th team - in - 2m retained on Karlsson, picks/prospect

The devil would be what picks in what year, who the prospect is.

This is just for fun. Don't be mad.

Also as much as I dislike Gallagher, I wish we had some players playing like him.

It's funny, he's second among fwds at 5v5 in hits and 1st in blocked shots, he's also 2nd in penalties drawn. Not stats you'd typically associate with playing like a cupcake.

He's certainly not a physical force, but I don't see him shying away from contact the way he was when he didn't quite trust the shoulder.

Frankly, Norris and Giroux are perfectly slotted on the 2nd line in theory, Tkachuk, Stutzle and Batherson are absolutely first liners

The problem is there is absolutely no depth behind them. Pinto and Greig haven't progressed at all (and actually regressed) and no one is even 3rd line worthy. So we're missing a Top-6 forward and our 3rd line is below average at the moment.

If Zub and Sanderson starts playing much better like they can, our defensive squad is fine too.

All that said, the problem is really making more saves and converting on more chances, 2nd worst PDO at 5v5 again...

Okay, maybe the worst is behind us...?

Okay, for fun.

No retention on Karlsson, he plus Lauzon is $12M in, Chabot/Zub is $12M out.

Nashville sends a 1st to Pittsburgh (pick one of the 3 the Preds have this year) and Edstrom to the Sens.

Pittsburgh sends Staios a fruit cake by way of thanking him. Nashville gets the best player (currently) for a defense first defenceman, a prospect, and 1st. The Sens generate hype around the return of King Karl, get a serviceable 2nd pair LD for said King to play with (Jensen pairs with Sanderson), plus a centre that projects to play bottom 6 (allowing for the trade of one of Pinto or Greig...but that's another story 😉).

For FUN!!

Prominent Sens insider is the most egregious part of the whole thing.
Prominent Sens insider says Sens bringing in Galchenyuk to give them an offensive boost

Macewen waived and cousins promoted. Would that happen if Macewen had won the cup

1. No team is taking Zegras at nearly 6M/year without sending back salary. a) The Ducks still save money from the proposed deal. b) You underestimate the NHL GMs old boys club's allergy to character issues. c) Turris and Filatov, just to name those two, had similar pedigree and returned no more than a 2nd round pick (ours is slated to be high). d) Lastly, if you actually watch some Ducks games, you'll see that Zegras is completely disengaged out there and clearly waiting for a change of scenery/trade (reminds me Duchene in his last days in Colorado). He has scored 8 goals and 22 points in 50 games over the past two seasons. No team is paying a 1st for that.

2. Two years ago, Giroux returned Owen Tippett (10th overall pick with great tools, finding his way in the NHL) + 1st round pick (2 drafts out, turned out to be 32ov) + 3rd round pick when moved from PHI to FLA. Giroux had put up 18 goals and 42 points in 57 games at the time of that trade and has scored at a better rate throughout his time tenure in Ottawa. That's on top of being a proven leader, extremely skilled, etc. Giroux + Cousins for Ritchie + 1st round pick (most likely late and 2 drafts out) is far from outlandish.

3. RFA M. Tkachuk returned Huberdeau (coming off of a 115 points season) + Weegar (proven top pairing D on a President's trophy winning Panthers team) + Cole Schmidt + 1st round pick. Now, Brady is not as good as his brother, but he's also very different, very unique and signed for 4 more years at an extremely reasonable deal. While he's not a great fit for us at this point in time (happens to be the best piece to move in order to jumpstart a reset), I think you're greatly undervaluing our top players in general. There's no one like Brady in the NHL and GMs will pay through their noses if he ever hits the block. Byfield has great tools, upside and can really skate, but he hasn't cut it at C in the NHL so far, has tunnel vision a la Norris and not the greatest IQ. Despite some defensive shortcomings, Clarke has immense potential, but LA would 100% give him up to acquire a unicorn that automatically becomes their best player and is poised to take the C mantle over after Kopitar after retires. It's a steep price, but not one that's out of the reach of a competent GM (which, granted, we haven't had in a long time, between Dorion and Staios' one and only BIG test so far (the Chychrun trade, which he lost)).

4. The guys you're referring to were all signed under one agreement and with one goal in mind: help the Ottawa Senators win. How about we stop being the naive good organization, that's the NHL player's hanging spot to slack and repeat rehearsed cliches like they mean them, and actually commit to the one thing that matters most in the NHL. Winning. There's been very little of it this season and over the previous 7 and if the trend continues, there SHOULD be consequences to the players that are paid handsomely to help the team WIN. The organization that has humiliated us in every possible way over and over again (the Vegas Golden Knights) has completely grasped this concept. Only money and winning talk. If offered a fair market contract, no notable UFA is going to be anymore turned off by Ottawa than they already were because we shipped the likes of Amadios, Cousins' and other marginal UFAs dragging asses out of town due to poor performance.
