Tippett and Ristolainen is a pretty solid return for a center, not saying i'd do it, but it's worth considering, especially if you think you can extend Risto.

If Staios is in monkey brain mode and wants to replicate Florida's success, he could try signing Trouba and hope Trouba just elbows all of our opponents into oblivion. Would stop Tkachuk from having to fight as well (unless of course Tkachuk is dead set on fighting as his contribution towards Ws)

Well the ask for Risto was a 1st and a prospect, and Tippett has a pretty good contract with 6 yrs left, so he's going to fetch a strong return.

I find it a bit humorous how aghast people are that the Senators would be open to moving Spence. How is that surprising? We've been hearing for a while that Staios wants to bring in an impact player, or a couple of impact players, and to do that, you'll have to give value up.

If he's making calls on guys like Parayko, McTavish, etc, you can bet he'd be open to trade quite a few guys. Spence, Greig, Kleven, Yak...

There's probably only 2 or 3 guys he's not open to moving.

There's no in house top 4 options otherwise, so I think a lot of the concern is they move Spence before they find a solution, then strike out.

I think Steve has shown he's a lot smarter than that.

Well, when you look at how much our defense has stuggled at times in recent memory, people are questioning why we'd want to throw a wrench in a good thing.

If you look around at other teams they are all desperate for guys that can move the puck. we will be too if we trade spence.

things get really dicey of if player we bring in isn’t a good match for chabot. or if one of chabot and sanderson get hurt. or if yak can’t handle it on a nightly basis next season.

if we had more/better prospects, maybe it would be a different story. but we don’t. pretty much all our depth is in the NHL right now.
