Trocheck numbers are fine. I would have LOVED 5 years or 5mil over the 7 but this is still very good. UNLESS it has a NMC till the end. THAT would suck, but at what the cap will be in 5 years, not a disaster... Will be a plus if they structure it to be buyout friendly at year 5-7.
Other positives: Strome is gone. VT is a better player and a better fit than Strome or Copp. Costs no assets like JTM would. Keeps us from doing something stupid around a JTM or Kadri move. I think Drury played his cards well, all in all.

Not super surprising. Gallant at minimum didn't see him as a C. I struggle to understand it, but if that is the case NYR had to change gears. Possibly also they just loved Trocheck and he was always the target.
