This makes me downgrade my rating on this trade from borderline fleece to just very good. That's 2 out of 3 retention slots used up. Those are helpful to drive up returns when selling at the deadline.

Smith openly showed what the rest of the roster tries to hide away from the rink, that it sucks to be a a Penguin under Sullivan. I will never be mad at him for showing how shitty it was to be on the team.

Yeah, like, it's great to stockpile picks and all, but I don't want players who will be 18 in 2027. Do they not plan on contending until 2032? Kindergarten Kyle has mentioned using the picks to "get them in conversations they couldn't normally get in to," so hopefully he uses some of the 27's for that.
