Lee’s ask is 9 mil and I doubt he wants to sign when he was the Isles plan B. They didn’t show loyalty to him. Lehner is as good as gone, Bob goes to Florida. I almost feel bad but then I remember how confident they were in signing Panarin

I stepped out for a minute and this happened!

As i was walking back to the desk something occurred to me:

If Panarin was all about the money, he wouldve taken Floridas crazy offer and lived in the sunshine state with all of the tax implications. He also couldve taken the lucrative offer that Columbus and the Islanders threw his way.

I think he wants to be a Ranger. If he left money on the table for everything NY has to offer and a better chance to win, well we have been one incredibly lucky franchise this offseason.

I feel better about it when I think in these terms...would you trade Chris Kreider, Jimmy Vesey, and 4-5M in cap space for several years for Panarin and whatever they get for Kreider.

I guess when you look at it that way its fine. He's a good player...but man I think we're missing a pretty big opportunity in a couple years.

I wouldn't play Panarin with Zibanejad. Our 2C is a huge weakness. Playing him on the 2nd line will really help to mitigate that.
