Per 32 thoughts today, around the22 minute mark.

Friedman says Frederic is extending it will be a long-term deal at a lower cap hit.

Bouchard likely to be extended at a high caphit(duh)

Hoping it'll be like 6yrs and $2.5mil AAV, but bracing for 8yrs and $3.5mil AAV.

Good player, just came on slow after being injured leading up to back half of the playoffs. Hopefully he can be a solid checking 3rd liner with a scoring touch like he showed previously.

In a separate thread i thought he would get like 7 at 5 years and I didn't notice him really much in the playoffs when I was able to watch, so he really did fall off and I gotta eat some crow for thinking that.

Frederic had one good year in Boston last year. He’s been brutal ever since.

The Stan Bowman special. Prepare for 12 million for Bouchard, the guy does not know how to negotiate.
10.6mil is what I heard late last week.

The wild card now in general for RFA's and UFA's is whether or not they want to lock into shorter deals or longer term deals with the cap going up. Lawton was mentioning on local radio yesterday that from what he's hearing there are some that are afraid of leaving too much money on the table if the cap starts shooting up. I believe he was mentioning when Leon signed that he said by the time the contract is over the predictions are the cap will be about 32-35mil higher.

How can you possibly look at Trent Frederic’s body of work in the post season, 4g/9pts in 44 games (with tons of healthy scratches) and think this is a guy you need to focus on bringing back?

It’s like Edmonton is purposely sabotaging their team

Seemed like one of the most replaceable players for the Oilers during their cup finals run. I wasn't particularly impressed by their "3rd" line and much preferred what they trotted out on the "4th" line most of the time. He's an okay player and he might be able to get his game back but for a team expected to be up against the cap I likely would have prioritized their other upcoming UFA's.

Frederic had a good 22-23 and 23-24 but goes through long stretches of doing nothing. His playoff track record is pretty trash too.

He was pretty beat up during the playoff run with a bad string of injuries though so I don't think this one reflects too bad on him. I still don't really know who the real Trent Frederic is though. Maybe Edmonton will unlock a 2nd gear to him.

8x 1.5 would be more in line with the results we have seen so far.
