He was never very talented offensively, but he was around a PPG in the Q in his pre-draft year. That part of his game just didn't progress at all, which is slightly strange.
I didn't find it strange at all.
Freddy G's size was like a man child in the Q against little waterbugs so he could get some points alone in junior simply because he was too big for some players to handle him.
There is and never was any offensive upside here. This was always a 4th line checking C at the NHL level (if things worked out) where he would put up 10-12 points a year on average. His strength to the Leafs would be defensively and on the PK and FO dot giving the 4th line some size/strength and cycle ability.
