It's a 110 point team. They don't need people playing through injuries. I think Rod has said that a few times in the past. I can't imagine anyone being annoyed at anyone missing time during the regular season.

In fact, I'd guess the organization takes the option to play through a nagging injury out of his and other players hands rather than the player saying they can't go.

It is interesting how much healthier players are these days. I remember 20 years ago, all the 30+ guys would have 'groin strains' the first month of the season. Doesn't seem to happen anymore.

Maybe they're working out their groins more in the off-season. Hard to say. We don't have all the facts.

That seems pretty close to some of the things Brindy said. Not that serious and not miss a bunch of time fall in the week to week category for me. Kinda like McDavid is supposed to be out 2-3 weeks (i.e. week to week) and most people were thrilled with that. If it goes beyond 2-3 weeks, then I might start worrying a little more.

I mean he was that very thing last year when he almost single handedly turned our season around in November through January. He's already proven he can be that for us, and we shouldn't worry at all that he can do it again.

Like so many other bad situations, it was a tale of two Koochies. From the beginning of the season until Christmas, Pyotr’s save% was way below .900 and his record was below true .500. After Christmas until Freddie came back, he blew up to a .927 and won two-thirds of his games.

As always, how much of that was him and and how much was the team, etc. But we do need the better version of him that finished the year, not the one that had a really slow start.

So I've come up with the pretty good fantasy strategy year over year:

1. Draft Hellebuyck in R3.
2. Draft Igor in R4.
3. Draft Pyotr in later rounds.
4. Wait for Freddy to get hurt.
5. Wait for someone to drop Freddy.
6. Profit

We are currently at step 5 of winning the league.
