Player Discussion Fraser Minten

I liked this Sweeney story on Minten

Asked about minten.
"It's not just his level of play. It's off the ice, his approach to the game. The understanding and commitment side of things . It's been part of his i don't want to necessarily say DNA, but he's certainly had an understanding of it everywhere he's gone all the teams, all the coaches, all the people that have been around Fraser have described him as that . Now to be able to do that as a young player and try to get your footing in the national Hockey League is difficult to walk through the door look people in the eyes and think you know even the other night he makes a mistake on a play in Buffalo and other players would have been back to the coach and said hey what went wrong. He went back to the bench and said to chris Kelly, I need to fold there I need to be underneath i need to protect Fabian who is also a young player, that is a great awareness of what it's going to require to be a center, to be a player in the National Hockey league. "

I really like this player and think given wingers with some experience and skill could be our #2 C next season! Lindholm seems to have figured it out with Pasta and the Geek. Potsy on 3 and Kastelic on 4 and were good to go! Unless of course we pick up a centre before the season. Whoever we draft this year is NOT playing in the NHL next season.

Bruins have some good young talent, not shiny, sexy prospects, but potential to have to some really good, impact players over the next couple of seasons.

that's correct, and if you can add 2-3 stars to the mix, that's how you win cups.

Bruins have Pasta, McAvoy, Swayman - the latter two had bad years (tho McAvoy looked good for stretches, I suppose as did Swayman at times)

If they add another star with this draft and then sign one, they can easily flesh the team out with young guys on ELC's that fill great depth roles like Minten, Potsy, Locmelis, and the veterans like Zacha and Geekie and be a very competitive team for years to come.
