Player Discussion Fraser Minten

Really hoping he can be more of a middle 6 guy instead of a bottom 6. Most likely a 3rd liner, but hopefully one who can put up 35-45 points, as opposed to the 15-20 point range

I have a pretty strong dislike for the middle 6 term so i just dont use it. Just means he could be a bad 2nd liner. I think he could be a very good bottom 6 forward.

Really like that he was the captain for team canada at the u20 WJC, i always think that says something

So is the plan is for him to play in Boston or is he being seasoned with Poitras in Providence?
I'd imagine they'd want him in Boston for a bit. They've got plenty of room on the roster, it'd be good to see him against NHL talent and in the system, and it'd be a better welcome to the organization than staying in a scenic downtown Providence hotel.

Letourneau and Zeller picked in the same draft but Zellers 2 rounds later, who would you rather have moving forward. I hope the Bruins don't botch up all these picks they now have.

Zeller has has a better post draft year for sure.

I'm glad to have both in the stable of future assts.

And the very nature of draft pics means that the vast majority of new picks they have will never see the NHL, doesn't mean they are bad picks, it's just the nature of the sport

Well, I wouldn't call it job security.

Sweeney needs to hit on some of these picks by either using them as assets or making a mark with some of the selections or its a complete failure on his part. The nice thing is he now has options, Im just hoping he makes the right ones.

The answer is both.

Funny though that they're from the same draft but separated by 9inches, 60lbs and 38 goals last year.

Both wasn't an option ;), but thats good because we have both, but if they have a re-do of the draft today imo Zellers given his play in the USHL is taken ahead of Letourneau. It just goes to show you thou, how big of a crap-shoot it is drafting 17-18 year olds especially after the first 8-10 players.

I haven't had the chance to watch this kid play but I am excited about the reports I hear about him from the smarter folks than me who have.
