Due to Craig Smith injury last night…hope he’s not out too long, he’s 46 games away from 1000…five 20 goal seasons..carved out a not too shabby NHL career

I welcome the end of the Dickinson, Mikeyhev, Folgino, Smith, Donato, etc. era but this seriously could have waited until he had a few more players adjusted to his system. Can't really react good or bad to this one, but I look forward to see how this weighs in with KD's other decisions between now and the deadline.

With a pile of depth prospects coming up, it would be nice if Rockford wasn't bleh-bad come the spring but I'm happy for the kid and I will be more entertained and more excited to watch, and he does make more sense to have on the forecheck than 3 or 4 of the forwards they have up there now.

Big picture, they're finally shifting away from floor hockey or whatever non skating brand they were playing.

Wouldn’t a player who knows the system already help others adjust?

Well ...hwcwas not very good last 3GP under Eaton....neither was the rest ofthe Rockfordcteam..but that is not the point.. 3 non'starry games in acrow in the AHL and they calk him up?
Show me 5 orx4/5donibating starry hames..that merits a call up..butc3 stinkers in arrow?

Not his fault alone of course..but still your stars hoita be your best pkayers AND actually star..that is what we seek we want for the Hawks.. consistency of production from the forwards...consistency of prevention from the D and goalies ..and a team structure consistently with the team playing well for each other together ...can Nazar help...hope so..but if you put "saviour" label on him, probably heading for a non-difference-maker effect ..

However gos speed might draw penalties by the opps ..THAT helps the Hawks who are not good 5x5 but are much better scoring on the PP..

So we shall see.

NYI have placed both Pierre Engvall and Oliver Wahlstrom on waivers…

Blackhawks BETTER put a claim in for Wahlstrom…they already have Joey Anderson waiver pass approved

A change is what Wahlstrom needs

There's no world in which Kyle claims Wahlstrom

The kid can't skate

Hopefully the lofty expectations are met. Who let Kyle cook? He obviously doesn’t know the meaning of marinate.

Maybe they want him to "marinate" ubder Sorensen and not Eaton(not doing so well lastv3 games for Rockford).?

However I hope Nazar as the "Saviour" Hawks need to get out of the basement this season ,does not lead Hawks fans expecting he is some magic sokution alone that lifts Hawjs 5x5 into at least mid-pack territory ,into even more despair if that "impact" fails to materialize.

We shall see.

Maybe, but he's still learning NHL speed so I'm skeptical that he would be much influence. He will help the rest of the kids along later I would think.

He's useful for Sorensen though, as he understands what he wants already. Would have liked him to stay until the big team gets their legs under them but it's not a big deal.
