"We'll try to involve Varlamov as well....."

How nice of you Francois. I think the Avs would appreciate it if you do.

How does Roy usually run his goalies? Just curious if we'll see a heavy load for Varly or a fairly even split.

Allaire update

http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2013/06/17/francois-allaire-talks-about-new-role-with-avalanche/13855/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

On working with Semyon Varlamov and Giguere:
“Well, I think Jiggy was really excited when he called me, and of course we’re going to go on the ice this summer to make sure we’re still on the same page. We’ll try to involve Varlamov as well, because we want the kid to be part of the project. He’s the guy they tried to develop and get better, so Jiggy will help a lot, Patrick will help a lot and I will try to do my best, just to make sure everybody feels good in the organization, with Jiggy as the backup and Varlamov as the No. 1. If I can make everybody feel good and make everybody appreciate their job, I think it’s going to be a better season for both of them.â€

This is an odd comment from start to finish, especially the last part. I'm hoping it was because it was tough to articulate what he was thinking in english.

i think its going to be 2-1 och 3-1 depending on how long it is betwen games and who we are playing against.

so in the end of the season something like 55-25 to 60-20

Roy, Allaire and Giguere, all we need is ROR's dad and we will finally achieve Varly's maximum potential.

By the way, I think the Avs will have the market cornered on character father if they draft Jones.

That will make Peter Stastny, Brian O'Reilly, Popeye Jones, and perhaps the biggest character of them all that no one talks about, Len "I circumvented my GM and co-owner and made a hand shake deal to trade Steven Stamkos after his rookie year training camp" Barrie.

What the hell is up with this and Tourigny? It's been 16 days since they made a verbal agreement with Allaire, and 20 days since Tourigny. Last word from Dater was that they were still ironing out the details.

Have they really not been able to settle their contract issues yet, and what did they agree on if they were this far apart?

Who knows why it's not final yet but in that interview Allaire did, he was speaking as if he's already a member of the Avs.

probably just some language in the contract. or maybe they simply are focusing on the draft and Sherman is slacking.

Exactly, it's Sherman and Allaire/Tourigny. Neither side should have a whole lot on their plate right now. Roy, Sakic, and Pracey are doing all the draft and trade talks. I'm assuming it will be finalized eventually, but how long could a back and forth go for small details? Should just be a matter of, "I'd like to change this part." "Ok" and they make the changes. I'm assuming they've agreed on money, or Tourigny and Allaire wouldn't have verbally agreed yet. Just seems odd.
