NHL 19 Franchise Mode Thread

That would piss me off so much lol. I always have GM firing turned off.

I don’t mind GM firing because I’d like to go to a different team after.

But I can’t deal with owner mode, it’s awful and GM firing gets turned off when you turn that off

Every AI team didn't sign a single one of their UFAs
The 2024 free agency class is as follows:
92 Draisaitl, 91 Kuznetsov and 91 Holtby both leave washington, 90 Barkov and 90 Ekblad both leave Florida after they made the finals, 90 Barzal, 90 Tavares, 89 Rielly, and 87 Andersen all leave toronto for some reason, 89 Lindholm, 89 Conner and 88 Ehlers both leave winnipeg, 87 William Karlsson, 87 Jacob Larsson, 87 Zibanejad, 87 M. Tkachuk, 86 Johansen, 86 Eriksson Ek, 86 Domi, 85 Bowey, 85 Debrincat, 85 Theodore, 85 E. Kane, 85 Fabbri, 85 Fiala, 84 R. Murray, 84 RNH, 84 Nurse, 84 Jankowski, 84 Dahlen, 84 Perlini, a couple more 84s, about 10 83s, about ten 82s, and many more below

All the teams who lost multiple notable stars still have 30-40 mil of cap space too.

Also Ekblad, Reilly, and Lindholm who are all top 4 D below the age of 30 somehow only want about 7.5 mil each. All of the star forwards are asking for 8-13 mil though.

soooo.... was going to do an expansion mode, then realized it is the most dysfunctional thing ever when the contracts are a year ahead of the actual season and staal, simmonds, pavelski etc. is in free agency before the first season....

will decided tomorrow what my next GM mode will be.... really want to do a rangers that lasts instead of losing a write up and not have motivation to restart same post, but dont wantto get repetitive on youguys. could do another team if anyone has suggestions?

Oh my god that's hilarious. At least you can pretend it didn't happen. Or take him, and trade him back to them, pretending that you made a deal to not take him like Vegas was doing IRL.

The cost for the certification process occurs well before a game goes gold - in anticipation for the game hitting the digital stores.

Does everybody's PP suck complete ass in Franchise sims? Four years in and the PP literally never results in goals in individual game sims. But when you look at the stats after a few games, the team's production is seemingly average. Changed the setup, the personnel, the handedness, the breakouts, the entries....same PP every single year.

The game is really losing its luster for me.

I got a 1st from Anaheim in the off-season and they ended up being surprisingly bad so I was sitting at 6.

I was hoping one of the two highly ranked defensemen would fall to me and I watched Ottawa pass on a franchise center with the first pick to select a top 6 winger ranked 18ish.

I saw something similar, I was at 6 and the #1 ranked guy fell to me. Then my game crashed and the next time he went first overall

From what I've read, its literally consistency. Less consistent means more great games and more stinker games. More consistent means they perform more to the norm of their skillset more often. And a quick google search suggests 0 is the most consistent, and 2 is the least (though even that seemed unsure if it wasn't the reverse)

Thanks Echo. I probably read the same stuff as you lol. Lots of uncertainty surrounding this from all over the internet.
I use heavily edited rosters, in ea 18 I edited the star goalies to a level 2 consistency and after simulating a few seasons I noticed their stats were all sorts of terrible. Allowing 4-6 goals a game.
So next franchise I edited the goalies to have a 0 consistency. After a few seasons into the franchise the goalies would have a bunch of shutouts a season (like 20 something) but then have games where they allowed 6-8 goals so their stats were still average.

Then I tried a 1 consistency with star goalies and that seemed to be the most stable. Star goalies had 8-10 shutouts and around a 930 save %. Completely defying a lot of suggestions online.

One thing that supports that 0 is best is that EA has every NHL goalie at a 1 consistency except for Holtby, he's rated a 0 as the Stanley Cup champion goalie.

I'm so confused. I wish I could get some clarification from EA. Unless they have posted something and I just can't find it.

The UFA's in the first year of expansion mode pissed me off as well.

Do you use 4 forwards? I did and my powerplay never scored, once I changed to 3 forward and 2 defencemen it was more successful

I believe so, with this new scouting system I can’t see how I would be able to use the outdated nhl 18 system. Gameplay feels much better to me too.

Does anyone know when the first roster update is typically released? I just bought my first EA NHL game in the last 5 years or so, and want to start my franchise mode but want the updated lineups and rosters before I do.

This kinda happened in my sim in the 2021/22 UFA group. I was able to nab Seth Jones for a ludicrous sum of money for my Seattle franchise.

Did you happen to notice if some of the unsigned UFAs completely disappear from the game?

This happened when I simmed forward and hoped to circle back and sign a few guys once their asks dropped. But even legitimate superstars who went unsigned all went the way of the dodo. Vincent Trocheck at 27 years of age is nowhere to be found in the game.
