Fox or Faber

Faber was the 2nd youngest player in the tournament and the youngest North American, and he still played the most minutes of any player in the final. Pretty telling.

There is also the fact he is 5 years younger than Fox and locked up at a reasonable cap long term.

This can't be serious.

Fox already has more top-5 Norris finishes than Faber probably ever will.

Faber is in his D+4. Fox won the Norris in his D+4.

People still don't get Adam Fox. Sullivan evidently had no f***ing idea what Fox is.

He wasn't gonna use him over Werenski as his top offensive guy (accurate) so he just didn't use him.

Fox isn't this dynamic offensive guy. He's a heady player with good stickwork whose best asset is defense. Imagine if Mattias Ekholm was a really good powerplay quarterback. That's Adam Fox.

He should have been the guy next to Slavin on Sullivan's shutdown pair.

And also there's this:

Keep in mind, this is the worst version of Adam Fox, versus Faber in the same D-year in which Fox was already a Norris winner.

This can't be serious.

The anti fox circle jerk has been wild. Idk if it’s anti NYR bias or if people still just can’t accept that an elite D can be built like a 7th grader

You call that a reasonable cap hit?

Shocking results in this poll to say the least.

I think Fox gets a bit of a bum rap, and the tournament certainly isn't helping but

If you're seriously asking me if I'd want to build around a 27 year old or a 22 year old it's a pretty easy choice even before considering how Faber constantly rises to the occasion and learns and grows...he's a sponge...

Slavin - Faber was an unbelievable pair so I don't see how this comment has any validity. If the pair sucked, sure. They didn't, they were unbelievable.

People really overhyping Slavin and Faber after this tourney. They were good defensively, great. They also produced zero offense, and outside of the Finland game the US scored 5 goals in 3 games.

How much offense did Fox provide? Can you point to a single noteworthy offensive play? Defensive?

Only shocking if you are Dom from the Athletic. Advanced stats are for baseball. It’s always funny when people post a Corsi or xG chart as some sort of mic drop

Fox due to his skating is not meant for best on best where every player is elite (usually because of their skating). He will however continue to dominate actual NHL hockey

I agree with this, but the fact that at the NHL level his skating has already been declining year over year has to be a concern to Rangers fans without blinders on.
