Proposal: Fowler to Habs

Way to much for Fowler? Andrighetto and Scherbak are RWs and Anaheim needs a top 6 LW This doesn't help Anaheim that's in a now win mode Anaheim is giving up a really good LHD in Fowler. Sorry but this doesn't help Anaheim compared to either JVR or Tatar.

Actually both of them can play any forward position. I'm sure Andrighetto has played all three positions professionally, and pretty sure Scherbak has at least played RW and C, but can play LW. Scherbak at C was mostly just experimental though, because he has a skillset that suits playing C. I agree though that Tatar or JVR make much more sense as a target to fill their hole at LW though.

I could not agree more with the Brunet tweet quoting Hartley. Beaulieu has a similar toolbox to Fowler. Coach needs to have his back for one measly more year, and Habs fans won't be asking about Fowler types anymore. But he's a quarter the price this year, and he's got jam in his game. I always get the Malakhov vibe from Fowler. Like really, really nice tools, he clearly got them from the rich peoples' hardware store, but after four years, they're still pretty shiny.

Montreal overpays and Anaheim doesn't get really any help for now besides Andrighetto. I wouldn't mind him at all, considering we really need cheap forward help, but for the price of Fowler, only if an option like Ryan Spooner were off the table.

I would hope for a solid top 6 forward. MTL has three such forwards that would be of interest.

If we can't get that, then sure, a "sure-hope-someone-pans-out" package like the one posted in the OP will have to do.

Scherbak is Russian we haven't had good luck with Russians in our franchise history and we don't want to worry about keeping a Russian extra happy so they won't possibly bolt to Russia. Andrighetto is a bottom 6 winger we don't need such players we need top 6.

Particularly when GMs are involved. GMs aren't an overly homogenous bunch, so there's probably outliers, though.

Unless you guys can also shed Stoner's entire salary, you don't have the cap space to receive an actual top 6 forward in return of Fowler.

And i keep hearing Anaheim is a budget team. Is it true?? because normally, budget team aren't close to cap.

Even with Stoner traded, signing Lindholm and Rakell will take you very close to the cap.

I don't know. Odds are you won't receive an actual top 6 forward with related salary.

Gallagher is pretty important to Habs. But never a 2nd line winger will worth more than a 22 years old 1st line center.

One fan can appreciate Gallagher more than Galchenyuk tough.
