We are not trading Fowler unless we get a top 6 forward coming our way. We are not interested in acquiring defenseman even if we trade two away.

So Merrill + Reid Boucher + 2017 conditional first (if devils miss playoffs, push the 1st to 2018)

Bouch would be a top 6 forward for the Ducks.

Getzlaf, Perry, Kesler, Silfverberg, Rakell, Boucher as the top 6
Cogliano, Vermette, Thompson, Garbutt, Wagner, Raymond as the bottom 6.

There isn't much in that deal that's attractive to Anaheim at all. I also don't see Anaheim dumping Stoner in the same deal as Fowler.

Don't want Merrill at all. Boucher isn't a top 6 quality forward yet that is what we want if trading away Fowler a top 6 forward. A 1st round pick needs to not have such protection.

I'm not particularly interested in Fowler for what it would cost, and it would cost more than Boosh.

Remove any and all defensemen as the Ducks are loaded on the back end. They do not need any forward prospect which is what your offering. Add a current top 6 forward or there is nothing to talk about. It's pretty simple if they move Fowler it will be for a top 6 winger period.

the ducks are not trading fowler to get back spare parts, also we don't need defense back. if you want to make a deal it has to be forward based, period end of story

Jon Merrill + ????

Okay if Anaheim is trading 2 D-men to New Jersey, Then why would they take one back. I seriously doubt that New Jersey has what BM would be seeking for Fowler. Obviously Cammellari would be a no go and Shero wont deal Zacha. So who else could the Devils move Anaheim needs a top 6 LW not another D-man back so already this is a no go for Anaheim.

Anaheim doesn't need a D-man in return, So Merrill is a no go. And Boucher isn't an upgrade for Anaheim that in a win now mode. So this deal makes absolutely zero sense for Anaheim. Like i said in previous post New Jersey really doesn't have the pieces that BM would want for Fowler. Maybe Zacha and Shero wont deal him for Cam Fowler.

So I copied and pasted the top LWs for each team below out of a depth chart online. I used the ELC comment or low money player. These are only LWs (as noted by the depth chart I really did not ck too much) and in some places Cs too but not RWs.
Who fits the bill for Ana fans? The two in red are out of the western div, Drouin, good luck and next yr he gets paid so its a short term fix, and your doing this again with expansion draft as well. Sheary from Pitt, not sure if its the experience Ana wants, bit he's a cup winner. He's 5'8 175 so it does not fit the hulking player Ana says it wants. Burakovsky is another one that may be the right fit.

Ducks will wait for the perfect deal before making any moves. I mean it's not like they don't have the cap space to sign their best defenceman! They can afford to wait...

This has been beaten to death on here that I don't think either side is going to agree.

Only way that Devils get Fowler is if Anaheim is forced to make concessions on their asking price (and what people want for Fowler here) and the Devils could get a way with a lesser package. Otherwise, it seems as though Despres is the more reasonable option that matches well with the Devils expendable forwards.

Although personally, I think Boucher could look really solid in Anaheim's system just given the way their team is structured. While small in stature, he has a low center of gravity and plays a heavier game than people anticipate.

Leafs have lots of forwards...

Bozak + Kapanen + Leivo

Fowler + Stoner

Ducks clear cap and add offence.

I personally would stay far away from Fowler, especially given his price tag. I have a feeling his advanced stats will keep us away. Plus he is a LHD, so we might as well just use Gardiner there then.

So unless we flip him right away for a RHD, no thanks. Plus we would never take Stoner.

They can actually. After Thompson goes on LTIR Anaheim will have over 8mil to sign Lindholm and Rakell. Rakell is now coming off two surgeries( hello cheap show me contract). That should leave around 6 mil just to sign Lindholm. That's enough.

Looks pretty decent as a top pair on team NA at the world cup...i wonder if the same would happen if his NHL team was...oh, i don't know....good? Nope, not possible...he's a Leaf...he sucks.

It's fascinating how you turned that into an anti-Leaf statement.

Stoner doesn't have much trade value maybe even negative value. Maybe Arizona or the New Jersey would take him for free out of their need.

Unless someone thinks Fowler is in their top three Dmen (for expansion purposes), he might not of not be of great value. Also I wonder if teams with Dmen needs and cap space like NJ or Arizona who are rebuilding would give up much in a trade for two years then UFA Fowler.
