Tough pill for USA because they definitely deserved to win that overtime, but kudos to Canada and Binnington for holding on. I am happy for Doughty at least.
Binnington saved their asses in OT . I was expecting a softy to beat him , like usually happen. USA never got that softy chance but played great in OT.

Sullivan was horrible, I want somebody else at the Olympics. Brock Nelson was the worst player on the ice every game for the United States, he's a quality NHL player, but at this level he was just woefully overmatched, how he was able to stay in the lineup, over a player like Kyle Connor was mind-boggling.

Matthews has to finish that chance alone in front, but at least he got chances, which is more than can be said for Jack Hughes, nobody was more disappointing than Hughes this tournament, he was on the side of a milk carton.

Looking ahead, the blueline will be great again next year.

Hughes is a lock
Werenski is a lock
Faber is a lock
Slavin is a lock
McAvoy is a lock

The US really missed Hughes ability to carry the puck into the zone, the defense played great, but they weren't getting much consistent offense and Binnington was suffocating almost everything dumped in.

Have to admit I was into this thing more than I thought I'd be. Lol. Great hockey all around. Maybe just me but looked like the Top Canadian players were just playing half effort at times. Trying not to get injured. Not that they didn't try but seemed like it didn't mean as much to them as the Americans. Canadians won but Hockey is the winner here. The NBA all-star game was another c level horror show.

Sanderson made a pretty good case to make the team again. Only dman with a goal in his only game. He looked great out there.

What a f***ing OT that was, leave it to Jack Hughes to absolutely blow it at the end and be invisible the whole tourney. Binnington with 3 unreal saves in OT, I noticed Doughty didn't mob McD but went towards Binner on the celly. Of f***ing course McJesus scores on the winner because who else would? Would've been interesting to see if M. Chukf*** would've been a difference maker if fully healthy, I reckon he would've probably turned the tide in the US's favor. Also, we must trade for Sam Bennett like now, what a beast of a player, absolutely clutch.

Florida (Zito) trading for both Tkuchuk and Bennett ( Calgary picks by Brad Treliving).. is what sets them apart.. just having one of those types of players seems to be the secret sauce - but two I think is the reason they have been in the finals two in a row

I wonder if the usuals will still take their shots at Faber after his performance in this tournament.

They did after historically great defensive play in the NCAA and jumping right into the NHL and being a plug-and-play star, so I doubt playing great as the youngest player in a best vs best tournament will impress them.

The Kings haven't been able to draft the next Kopitar, but at least they found Doughty's replacement a dozen years after drafting him. I've been critical of the Kings for the misses at the top, but what a steal that pick ended up being, if that draft were re-done today he would only be behind Stutzle and Raymond, and even that is pretty close.

What a total disaster to lose that asset, and all because he wanted to return to college and not play for the developmental graveyard known as the Ontario Reign.

And then promptly trade him the f*** away like dipshits. I really hope Clarke pans out, too early to tell but Faber is clearly way ahead of him in development.

USA Women beat Canada in team play, lose to Canada in championship game
USA Men beat Canada in team play, lose to Canada in championship game.

Tale as old as time.

Outplayed by Doughty.

Have no idea what the hell Matthews was doing there? Selke candidate? Lol Hughes was covering the point but Matthews. Brutal.

Marner was uncovered in the corner - as the C you're supposed to pick up one of the forwards - he didnt see fox coming around the net at first but why he continued toward marner once Fox was on his way, that shouldve triggered a thought that some other forward was uncovered.

Two great games from Canada and USA in a pretty much meaningless tournament. I was entertained.

Man, Eichel is really freaking good. It's funny, he's actual total prototypical Kings player with his 200 foot game -- but also with elite skills too.

He was a gift from the hockey gods for what Rob Blake was trying to do (win with 11 and 8). It’s just so rare for a player like that to be available, and he would have slotted everyone into the right spot (Kopi 2C, Danault 3C)

And he decided to pass on him, only to bring in Fiala and PLD shortly after, giving up the two best players he drafted in the process.

We are living in Hell.

Sure...but you've got to commit to it. It was a lazy effort to get there and, there's not a reason to even fully commit at all considering he's in the corner and at a bad angle. He made a bad decision to move towards him...and then he didn't even try hard to get there. Bad all around.
