My thoughts on last night’s game:

1. I paid attention to it, more attention than I’ve paid towards the last 10 ASG combined.

2. Quality and intensity of play exceeded my expectations, which admittedly were extremely low.

3. I’ve become a lot more cynical about international competition in all sports because of the corruption and - for lack of a better term - the increasing artificiality of it. That said, last night was a pretty neat spectacle.

I don’t think I’ll ever get back to the same feelings I had watching the 96 World Cup and wishing for someone to send Chris Chelios to the hospital. Not even close. But something undeniably cool about seeing JMo, McD, MacK, et al repping Canada after such a long gap in anything resembling best-on-best international hockey.
My thoughts exactly only I particularly paid extra attention to the 2002 Olympics.

Great intensity. Aside from one not great turnover JoMo was showing great.

Jets 31: mascot
sipowicz: team psychologist, PHD from the school of Lou Lamoriello
kanadalainen: motivational poet laureate
Rest of the HFJets contingency: armchair GM’s all with potential as coaching call ups
@Do or Die: cynical/confrontational intermission analyst ala Jim Rome (but not a punk b-tich like him)
@SUX2BU: marketing director “we’re hooped!”
@The Blue Baron: assistant to the asst gm (which makes you the asst gm)
@Gm0ney: KHL scout
@Guardian17: dancing gabes choreographer

Canada: Gold medal
Top pairing would be kovacevic/stan

Read this note today....

Being able to fill out a roster exclusively with NHL players was a challenge for Finland at 4 Nations; once Miro Heiskanen and Rasmus Ristolainen went down with injury, that left Winnipeg Jets blue liner Ville Heinola as the only Finnish-born NHL defender left who isn’t participating in this week’s tournament.
Would have been hilarious if he got picked and lit up the tournament

I didn't like the look of Parayko beside Morrissey. Might have been nervous, but he never attempted a point D to D pass, just dumped it down behind the net. Struggled with pace in the D zone.

Doughty looked like Stanley giving up the blue line and backing into his goalie's lap on Kempe's goal.

I had no idea that Zoolander is coaching the American team.
