if they are going to keep doing this with 4 teams they should scrap the round robin format and just play concurrent 'best of 3' series (ie USA v Finland and Canada v Sweden) with your opponent swapping every year.
Play back-to-back for the first 2 games and then a day off before 'the decider'. Whole things is done in a week and you can build better rivalries running it every year while not having it go stale
The event is pointless, disrupts the season, and risks injury. Best would be to abolish it. But if they continue it, I'd prefer a round robin with no final. Play each team once. Whoever has the most points wins. This gets players back to their real hockey fairly quickly.
