if they are going to keep doing this with 4 teams they should scrap the round robin format and just play concurrent 'best of 3' series (ie USA v Finland and Canada v Sweden) with your opponent swapping every year.
Play back-to-back for the first 2 games and then a day off before 'the decider'. Whole things is done in a week and you can build better rivalries running it every year while not having it go stale

The event is pointless, disrupts the season, and risks injury. Best would be to abolish it. But if they continue it, I'd prefer a round robin with no final. Play each team once. Whoever has the most points wins. This gets players back to their real hockey fairly quickly.

NHL GM's watching their star players fighting and being on the receiving end of big hits in exhibition games that don't count for anything:

I like the way you think.

🤣
Hmmm....well I would hate to see that happen to some guys...others I don't care about but some teams are heavily dependent on a single guy to make a playoff spot like us with Miller and Ottawa with Tkachuk as two examples of guys clubs could /would miss dearly in a playoff race . Guys like Werenka-Larkin a couple of more examples that are key guys and their loss would be immediately felt .

Honestly, they should test these guys for the flu before they start something like this.

The whole f***ing tournament got sick.
Yeah....it would be nice if viruses would arrive with a 3 day notice .....

They do actually. It's called incubation.

I don't want to go back to the draconian measures of the pandemic but there has to be something they can do about a tournament where so many guys are sick, not to mention hurt.

If they're gonna do this, they should take more time to do it. Let guys recover going to it and coming back. The NHL starts back up about 36 hours after tonight's game.

I don't think they anticipated how seriously guys were gonna take this. They're playing sick, playing hurt, and getting hurt.

Take another week. It beats the owners putting the kibosh on this entirely because their team came back in a box. That's what's gonna happen.

Logically you are probably right but I was so pumped for 2 days after we played Canada.

haha Kreider over Connor. to the people who think CK has no trade value. Coaches and GM's still love guys like Kreider.
Connor has been disappointing thru 3 games but he is a dangerous offensive threat.

Kreids is a big game player. He is also a dandgerous offensive threat. Ive said my piece and would like to see him traded, but it doesnt have to go down like that if plays at the appropriate compete level and stops sulking. He can be much more phsyical and engaged. It's up to him. The Rangers are out of messages to send him that they need more. He is supposed to be leading this team.

I understand the Kreider Sentiment and I know they are different players but Connor is a way better player.
I am glad tho Kreider will get a chance to hopefully make a difference tonight.
Maybe he can do the same for the NYR starting saturday

If Kreider is playing tonight, I hope they let him know yesterday or the day before. With how debilitating his back injury is he probably needs at least a day or two of preparation to even be able to play in the game. Remember how much work David Wright said he had to do late in his career to be ready to play after his spinal stenosis issue?
