Connor being a scratch while multiple washed grinders got dressed is unforgivable. He's the top American goal scorer this year. Absolutely ridiculous to bench him.

Of the top 5 Americans in goals scored this season, only Jake played last night. Connor was scratched while Thompson, Caufield, and DeBrincat weren't there at all (I have no issue with no DeBrincat). Typical Sullivan/Guerin grinder/old school garbage - Canada can get away with it because they had the two best players in the game - USA needed to use its superior scoring depth and didn't.

i would've been ok if Crosby had scored the GW. I thought that USA's game plan actually did quite well against canada. McDavid might've scored the winner but they bottled him up all game.
Holy crap is Slavin a beast on defense. I knew he was good but he was easily the best defender in the whole tournament imo. It also *really* hurt usa that was at only half power tkachuk.
Though crosby clearly is not 100% they said elbow, be interesting to see if he plays saturday and if he can shoot at all.
My biggest surprise was that big game binnington actually showed up. I though for sure that Helle in the other end would out play him but not the case. USA should have won it a few times over before canada did.

Binnington played like the anti-Jarry. Both are prone to softies a bit too often, but Binnington actually came up clutch when it mattered while Jarry just continues to shit the bed when it counts.

Crosby's contribution was winning them that Sweden game. It's a win they had to have, or they'd never even reach the Final. All 3 assists were legit.
Plus he got that ENG off a solid defensive play when Finland had all the momentum and were a goal away from tying it.

I think that's fine, at 37 y/o and playing hurt. Let the younger stars carry. This is their time.

He tied for the team lead with 5 points. So leading a championship team in scoring at 37 is pretty good
