It's gonna be frustrating as hell watching Sid having to go back to playing with our hot garbage when this tourney is over.

Get him away from Sullivan and put him with actually decent players… and he’s still got it.
Sid's going to win it for Canada and then pull a 2004 Lemieux and go on LTIR for the rest of the season so we can get a top pick

Alright boys deep breaths.

Now we get to enjoy some Mike Sullivan hockey again tomorrow.

I dont mind MacKinnon being selfish in OT. Players usually start up a pass fest and never shoot. Mack was rushing the puck and firing on the net.
I thought maybe some of those he could use his speed to gain the zone and then dish it to McDavid and let him skate around until something opens up.

MacKinnon kept trying to go 1v3 and he's so good that it was still resulting in shots on goal but I dunno didn't feel like most of those were going in unless he absolutely sniped one (which in fairness he is capable of doing).

But when McDavid is on the ice in 3v3 he needs to touch the puck more. Greatest weapon Canada has in that scenario

McDavid was deferring all game. Only had 1 shot. He was being too selfless. Mack was driving to the net. Cant fault him on that in OT.

I thought that was a really good coaching performance by Cooper. A lesser coach might have run Sid ragged by playing him too much in OT but Cooper wisely ignored sentiment and played his younger guys for most of OT and played Sid just enough that Sid could stay fresh and make a key play to win it.

Cooper largely rode Mack and McDavid for most of OT and that was the smart choice.

I was just a little concerned because that was only his second shift in the OT and the period was already half over. More concerned about his arm than anything.

So Sid can still produce like an elite scorer when he actually gets to play with elite linemates? Imagine that.

If Canada ends up losing, it's going to be because Binnington sucks. Dude made one nice save, but a couple of the goals were weak and he was swimming around his net a lot tonight.

This was the first full hockey game I've actually watched the entirety of over the past two seasons. It's been forever since a]I went into the game and actually felt my team had a chance of winning the game and b]I could actually enjoy what I was watching and not wonder why hockey turned into watching paint dry.

It's been a while since I knew what that felt like.

That was probably the best hockey game I have ever seen. The World Cup of Hockey has to come back stronger than ever. Fans and players deserve this. What an absolute treat. I felt like a kid. Saturday just because SO much more fun for me.

I knew Karlsson would look a lot better when you let him do what he is good at instead of forcing him to only do what he is weak at.

Well, I guess everyone knew that.
