Who the hell in a position of influence thought it was smart for team Canada to be run by Blues guys, and team USA be run by Wild guys? Of course it's a circus
I am having a hard time getting pumped to root for my country's team, I am not a fan of any of the key US guys. And back in the day I was able to root for Brett Hull, Chelios, Roenick, those nasty Hatchers and daddy Tkachuk. For this game we anticipate the match up of Canada's firepower of Mackinnon, McDavid and Makar against USAs big dogs of the Tkachuk brothers and Eichel. Seems easy to forget about Matthews
.. Matthews doesn't have that dog in him

I think I'm rooting for Avs tonight. Olympics will be a different thing entirely, of course I'll root for US then because it counts and it's big for the development of the sport here. The politically charged extra noise is definitely not helping me enjoy it either.
I'm glad you could parse that you maple syrup chugging infidel.Rooting for the Avs means rooting for Team Canada.
Always been that way!
(how was that? just trying to get the fires lit for later)I'm glad you could parse that you maple syrup chugging infidel.
Also true that McDavid has been better in the playoffs than Nate and just had a run that Mack will never equal.Just going to say this one time. Nate is a Stanley Cup Champion and McDavid is not.
Nate ended his Cup run with a ring on his finger. McDavid- not so much. Doesn't have that Dogg in him. Also true that McDavid has been better in the playoffs than Nate and just had a run that Mack will never equal.

I dunno. He could always leave Edmonton at some point. 10+ years to go unless injuries wreck the guy.And also true that Mcdavid will never a cup.
Makar is a f***ing beast. If only he could stay healthy during the regular season it would go down as quite the career.btw- Cale is the best player in the world. He does all that from the blue line.

Just like Bourque didn't until he got to CO right?Nate ended his Cup run with a ring on his finger. McDavid- not so much. Doesn't have that Dogg in him.
Bill Guerin is the GM, so of course the Wild medical staff got the nepotism selection lol. Bruins are clowns themselves, look at how butthurt they were with Swayman's negotiations. They really cry a lot for an organisation.Who the hell in a position of influence thought it was smart for team Canada to be run by Blues guys, and team USA be run by Wild guys? Tell that to all our Finns and their love for ketchup.Rooting for the Avs means rooting for Team Canada.

Isn't the number higher than that for both USA + Canada? I'm sure Olympic numbers will be higher too, but you're right, until this point, this is the biggest game in viewership that either will have played inWas thinking about tonight's game this morning. Obviously the cup win was the most important moment for this generation of Avs fans and players but with how many people are going to be watching tonight's game, so many who normally don't watch hockey, this has to be right up there in terms of being one of the most important games MacKinnon and Makar have ever played. This is, in terms of viewership, the biggest stage they've ever played on.
4.44 million viewers for last Saturday's USA vs Canada game, and that number is probably going to get smoked by tonight's game.
Only 4.2 million viewers watched the Avs hoist the cup.

There's so much talk about what home run this has been for the NHL, how much interest it has generated outside of normal hockey fans, what the NBA should do in response etc...Eichel recently won a cup and said that today's game is the biggest of his career. That's how much players care about this tournament.
Here's hoping that it ends up being the biggest game of the rest of his career.Eichel recently won a cup and said that today's game is the biggest of his career. That's how much players care about this tournament.
There is usually a valid reason to send players off, even if it's not an established standard. Supressing political discussion around the game when the players, coaches, and GMs of the team are talking about is, is actually in contradiction of site rules:It's fine by me -- it's like sending players off when things start to get chippy before all hell breaks loose. It's the Internet so multiply the potential for more heat than light by tenfold.
Political discussion is not permitted on the forums except within the narrowly defined scope of hockey-related matters.
