I was ticked off (not only at butchering Canada's national anthem and changing the lyrics) but starting it out in french

I thought Britain conquered Canada in 1763 after France surrendered

I’m rusty on my British/Canadian/French history but I’m guessing starting in French was done purposely as well. It bombed but it was obviously well thought out. I’m glad it hasn’t taken anything away from the game that was played. Consider it a minor blip.

It's always sung in French and English here. We're an officially bilingual country.
It was butchered though he is right about that part.

Just heard that there were 16 million viewers in both countries combined. That is more than any NHL game in over 30 years.
It was great hockey to watch .NHL will be boring now after that.

Something that is going weirdly overlooked, likely lost in all the other narriatives;

Mike Sullivan willingly scratched Kyle Connor, one of the league's best and most consistent goal scorers for a Chris Kreider who has been hot trash for most of this season and a Matt Tkachuk who could barely move.

And this is the guy some people want to bring to Boston? Hard f***ing pass.

Not the first guy I would pick to lecture someone on how to handle trash talking.
I would.

Brad is many things, and I understand if others don't like them.

To me, whatever else, hs is an honest person.

He's a dirty player, or was, much more so than today. Gordie used to say that when you use your elbows, you get time and space.

Marchand was a fourth liner in his rookie year of 2011 and worked his way up to playing with Patrice Bergeron.

I believe you know the rest.

He never said he wasn't dirty.

In my mind, Marchand never backed down from a fight or avoided accountability after starting a fire.

And he started plenty.

Maybe that isn't true. But that's how I have always seen it.

He is not Ulf Samuelson. He is not Claude Lemiux.

To each their own, but I love Brad and I'm glad, even proud, that he is a Boston Bruin,

I can't speak to that, but Mike Sullivan's time in Boston is in the past. And it should stay there.

Yes, he had Crosby, one of the greatest players to ever play the game; Malkin, Letang, Fleury, and all the rest, but he was behind the bench for three Stanley Cups.

One more than Joe Sacco or Jay Leach will ever sniff.

I don't want him back, but I'd take him over those two any day of the week.

Would you?

What part of the 7 shots gave you that impression? If you watch the OT before the goal you would have been shocked the Canadian lasted that long to be able to win.

Should put a statue of Binnington in every school in Canada. Him not being named the star of that game was embarrassing.
I also watched the USA
