Thats not it ,Canada acting like this was some epic take down and saved "Canada's" game is kind of a joke that's all ,settle down. they split.

Matt T was injured in BOTH games and the us played shorthanded, If you ask me that was handed them that game last night.

The US was shorthanded all night because of it. I would love to know who gave the go ahead to allow him to dress.

Thats a big story if you ask me.
I appreciate your take...but in Canada's eyes it'll always be that way. Canada already deals with the media here dragging them over the coals over losing at recent World Juniors.

The knock against Canada was their goaltending. The Canadian media going as far as saying it's the weakest of the 4 teams.
After the round robin loss....
"Binnington sucks!"
"Switch to Hill if we stand a chance!"

I was totally confident in Binnington, so it was great to see how he stepped up and shut everyones big fat negative mouths plus the medias.

Work with what you got. Tkachuk out. Carry on. Part of hockey.

Happy for Marchand. Not sure he makes the roster a year from now at 37, so if this was his national team swan song, it’s nice to see him win “at home” so to speak.
I think it's pretty clear after this tournament that he's a step below the elite level guys now. He could still be useful in a 4th line role at the olympics, I think he makes it as depth unless he completely falls apart over the next 12 months

My USA lineup tweaks for the Olympics next year...

Tage Thompson in, Brock Nelson out.
Jason Robertson in, Chris Kreider out.
Quin Hughes in, Adam Fox out with Sanderson taking the 7-8th D spot.

Jack Hughes' and Kyle Connor's spot is also up for grabs in my opinion, but I haven't settled on who I'd slot in there yet. Maybe Keller in for Connor.

Goaltending is fine with Helley and Otter.

I watched the first period and was surprised to hear USA made it to overtime
What part of the 7 shots gave you that impression? If you watch the OT before the goal you would have been shocked the Canadian lasted that long to be able to win.

Should put a statue of Binnington in every school in Canada. Him not being named the star of that game was embarrassing.

Maybe, but I think it will be tough. I mean 40% of the league is Canadian, so there’s a lot of choices.

Maybe Wyatt Johnson and/or Kyrou push for a spot or they bring in Tom Wilson.

Who knows, but like you said, Marchand could also be there for depth/experience/leadership too.

Step below? He had what 5 shots in 4 games. He created nothing .

Edmonton should step up and trade for him. I can see him in Tampa as well

I cant even tell if you're agreeing or disagreeing here. He didn't play many minutes, but when he was out there you could definitely tell the elite guys were better than him. He used to be one of those guys

And I agree, his age and injuries have had a lot to do with it. But he needs to be gone one way or another after this season.

One was acapella.... the other was kind opera with great band.

I thought it was one of the best American anthem done. Was pretty nice.
I read the Canadian singer changed the lyrics last night.. classy if true, plus after a few boo's the Boston crowd sang the Canadian anthem. pure class Boston.

The US anthem was the best In think I heard at a hockey game, well done.

I've seen that it was some Canadian fans booing because she was awful.

She was awful, and I blame the event planners for that. You don't put two versions of anthems out there that are so completely opposite. At least give the Canadians a chance to match a top opera singer backed up by one of the most famous orchestras in the world.

That would have been amazing. Boston Pops are outstanding. Their instrumental version of Enter Sandman is a masterpiece.

I get what she was trying to do but it flopped and was cringe. I'm guessing she caught everyone off guard.
