Also, lots of Canadians from the Maritimes went to Boston to work in the early part of the 20th century, especially if your background was Irish, like a few of my uncles and aunts did. That’s why I have lots of cousins in the Boston area, stoked my appreciation of the Bruins in the early 70s.

Same here, My mother is from Nova Scotia and we have family in Boston.

Same with families in Quebec City who came down to work in the textile mills. That’s how my family came to the US.
 
I don't see how you can call it meaningless when it very clearly means a lot to both teams
In the grand scheme it has nothing on Olympics or regular playoffs.

Certainly far better than the ASG. The articles and interviews are a mirror of the players being interviewed for every Winter Classic at this point. Stale excitement.

Hearing these quotes of players comparing this to anything near the playoffs or Olympics is artificial.
