Last night's game was probably the best head to head matchup played on ice I've watched live. I'm excited for the regular season to return but it might not be as fun to watch when every player isn't one of the best at their position.
I thought both games on Saturday were fantastic......but for very different reasons.
Still trying to wrap my brain around that JT Miller fight with Parayko. Miller has the heart of a lion, however I probably would have picked a smaller guy to go with....
I’m looking forward to them facing off possibly Thursday night and again in the Olympics. If it ends up a rematch on Thursday, I won’t be going to ceramics class that’s for sure.

Man team canada is missing a 2011 Milan Lucic on their team. There's zero nasty on team canada and usa just had their way with them. Tom Wilson should have been on this team. But we got a bullshit mix of Konecny, Hagel, Bennett, Jarvis in the bottom 6.
Also not taking Logan Thompson is down right stupidity. Starting Binnington after game 1 deserves pink slips to GM and coaching staff.

great tilt. I am still not super invested in the tournament but still fun stuff to watch. Clear what team USA was doing when picking their team, speed, toughness, youth with skill
TC really doesn`t have a line with true grit players who are comfortable dropping the mitts
Pisses me off that McAvoy lays hits like that when wearing his countries colors yet hasn`t laid one bloody hit like that all year in a Bruins uni
Goaltending a problem for Canada, can guarantee Binnington will give up one softie per game, first goal was just that

binnington is like swayman this year. he will give up at least 1 bad goal a game.
i just hope this tourney is what ncavoy needed. but its more likely just him trusting a better D partner.

I totally see where you are coming from, having a guy like Hampus on the other side gives CM a bit more freedom to lay that big hit but I honestly can`t recall one big hit from him this year regardless, let`s hope he feeds of his play so far in 4 Nations
I am not so sure I`d downplay Tkachuk not playing in the 3rd period after clearly being uncomfortable with something. No way a guy like that plants his ass to the bench in a 1 goal game but what do I know? Little that has been proven time and time again
I have no clue why they picked Jarvis and Konecny.

It's a classic Sweeney style assembled team. Just throw a bunch of random players together and expect the best 2 or 3 guys to sort the rest out with the coach.

I don’t so much mind the architecture of the roster just the way it is being used.Marchand and Bennet getting 7-8 minutes.While Crosby gets over 20 ,and personally I thought he was terrible last night ,was great the first game but not last night.

It is pretty shitty.
I've still yet to see a justification for why Cirelli and Hagel were picked outside of being nepotism.
It's one thing when you have a line of guys who all play well together and happen to be among the best players in the NHL. See taking Joe Thornton's whole line in 2010 and Perry/Getzlaf in 2014. No one bitched about this picks because it was a double of being good together and just being good period.
But you would be very hard pressed to say either Cirelli or Hagel are in that company. Hagel plays with two infinitely better players in Kucherov and Point while Cirelli is solid, but i would have taken Nick Suzuki over him easily. Same defensive prowess with better touch at the other end. Bennett and Jarvis (as much as i like his game) realistically probably shouldn't be on the team either.
It's the same Hockey Canada BS. They're so obsessed with "roles" they're incapable of thinking outside of that framework. The US to an extent is too given their roster but they also have a coach on their staff far more capable of taking advantage of that.
