Congrats to Canada, good game and fun tournament. Let's never have an all-star game again, this was much more entertaining and the players performed like they cared.
I wasn't exactly surprised when Larkin didn't get a letter but when I looked at the guys they picked over him I just kind of assumed I was missing something / in my Red Wings echo chamber. The people saying Larkin is just a 2C have been right all along - 2C for Team USA! Put some respect on Larkins name!
Felt like he was better off not playing with Matthew’s tbh.Larkin was great, he really showcased his abilities.
But he got to play a ton and he hustled out there. Since they lost i'm sure he's deflated now aswell and I wonder if he'll have the legs for this push coming now down the stretch... I Sure hope so, but he really gave his all these past few games.
I have a feeling Larkin is about to go off down the stretch. He wants to play in important games so badly, and this was just a taste.Larkin and Raymond both showed out. Excellent tournaments.
Hopefully they both get a boost from this and are ready for the grind down the stretch.
I don’t know what Matthew’s was doing there. You know your guy is McDavid. If there’s one guy on the planet you don’t leave alone in the offensive zone, it’s him. And that’s exactly what he did lol.Dylan Larkin was the best forward for team USA. If not for Slavin, I'd say he was the best player altogether.
Matthews absolutely blew it by not covering McDavid in OT. My goodness.
If Matt Tkachuk knew he was injured, he should've told the team he couldn't go. No Kyle Connor that entire game? Give me a break.
Connor wasn't on the roster last night. Him not being there was pretty much the same as when he did play. He had a pretty lousy tournament.Dylan Larkin was the best forward for team USA. If not for Slavin, I'd say he was the best player altogether.

The US ran Binnington over 2 or 3 times and Brady got away with a sucker punch right on the chin early in the game. Don't cry about the refs, Canada was better.Guess Canada's allowed 7 guys on the ice in OT huh? Not one pp for Team USA. Bullshit ending to what was a great tournament
Matthews (big blown coverage hurts this) and Eichel were good in this tournament. Loved seeing Larkin earn his way up the lineup and lock himself onto next year’s Olympic roster. The US ran Binnington over 2 or 3 times and Brady got away with a sucker punch right on the chin early in the game. The States brought Hughes, Matthews, Eichel, and Trochek down the middle and Larkin ended up arguably the best of the bunch with Matthews getting stuck on his wing. Can't wait for Larkin and Raymond in playoff hockey
I'm probably taking this the wrong way but it never should have been all that much of a question of whether or not they should save a spot for Larkin. Even if Larkin gave just a solid performance in the 4N tournament.![]()
Who are the locks, maybes and rising stars for Team USA at the 2026 Olympics?
If the 4 Nations Face-Off was an appetizer, the next Winter Games will be the main course. Here's a look at the shoo-ins and those who could draw in.www.espn.com
Forward locks
Jack Eichel, Vegas Golden Knights
Jake Guentzel, Tampa Bay Lightning
Jack Hughes, New Jersey Devils
Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings
Auston Matthews, Toronto Maple Leafs
Brady Tkachuk, Ottawa Senators
Matthew Tkachuk, Florida Panthers
"Larkin flashed his game-breaking speed and was the offensive difference-maker in the win over Canada in Montreal, scoring the go-ahead goal. The Red Wings center was used as a primary penalty killer for Sullivan. He did nothing in 4 Nations but help his case for the Olympics."
Who may Larkin be referring to with these comments? I'm probably blanking because I'm not immediately aware such and such player would play for the US.
