Karlssen with a big goal. He and Ekholm have looked great as a pair. Still think this guy would excel within the Oil systems and deployment options within top 4 (and on a Cup prospective roster). He's the blueprint for trying a no cost Dollarama version in Klingberg. haha

His puck poise in own zone situations stands out.
Oilers can absolutely make it happen. Pittsburgh is ridding themselves of salary and teams like Columbus and Chicago need to get to the cap floor with the cap going up.

For sure, I was beating this drum for most of the season. Still believe he would be an amazing fit and as I've posted I'd drop him into the Nugent Hopkins slot on PP1 to give an elite right shot shooter option with elite processor and puck poise. Utilize him as well on the PP puck carry as an option to move opposition stacking the blueline against sole McDavid puck transportation. Add the EV puck support for Line 2 & 3, it would be a force to give Draisaitl an elite puck moving d-man option.

A couple challenges. His salary can only be retained 2x so Penguins would have to eat maximum or flip him to what I'd likely see as Columbus who have open retention slots and might benefit from carrying money to hit the upcoming inflationary cap jump (especially as actual dollars remaining are lower than his cap hit). Chicago has two expiring retention slots but likely reserve to flip their own big money, long-term guy, Jones. In theory the Oil could try to include a salary like Arvy in a deal but a $4 million 7 goal winger is probably a hard sell.

Definitely an intriguing player with potential to be an x-factor for the Oil. Feels low likelihood though.

Man how is Harley next in line for defenae. I despise hockey Canada.

You could make an argument he’s better than as many as 3 d men that are in the lineup ahead of him currently. Maybe even 4 if you really wanted to stick your neck out.

Fingers crossed Sanheim shows well, but Parayko and Doughty are horrid.

This is gonna be a good one, might have to score a bunch to win. Not to get political either way, but I love that Canadians found some pride in our flag again, and we get to cheer for team Canada again too!! Go Canada!!

Petterson is a loser man. He has no fire, he’s like the Sedins if they were clinically depressed. Those guys had no fire but at least they seemed happy, big in the community and stuff too. Petterson just seems dead inside.. you’re living the dream man crack a smile

Intensity of a wet paper bag. Barely noticed him at all in both games.

Pietrangelo bailing, Theodore injured, Makar sick (so other guys on the team probably also have something too if I had to bet). And then they had to go and pick an ancient Doughty coming off a long-term injury because idk reputation or something. Harley likely the only guy they could grab before his vacation started.

Yeah not looking good. Canada will still finish second though as long as they beat Finland, but they'll lose in the final to the US with that defense.
