A guy like Robert Thomas would be great in this game.

Too bad Armstrong decided to make the hometown pick in net with this joke of a goalie instead of up front in place of about 4 guys that just shouldn’t be there.
Binington has a habit of doing this--brilliant some nights but...

well I guess we can't blame Stu for this one.

McDavid and Crosby. MacKinnon and McDavid in OT the other game was bad because MacKinnon kept trying to skate through everyone and not pass the puck.
Crosby's age is showing tonight unfortunately. Not willing to doubt him for the 3rd but the game has looked too fast for him tonight.

I was watching some of the 2014 gold medal game the other night and it makes me sad relative to what we’re seeing here.

3 d pairs that were rock solid and impenetrable, and Price that would stop the odd shot we actually gave up.

Night and day.
I wonder what has caused Canada to lag so bad on goaltending. It cannot just be bad luck when if you had to rank goalies of USA and Canada together, you'd have to get to what #15 before a Canadian made the list?

There seems to be an infectious attitude in Canada (and Edmonton) leadership that goaltending is just "voodoo" and a product of defense or some such nonsense

That was my concern with this group from the get-go.

They're all solid puckmovers and very good defensively, but there's no Werenski or Karlsson on this squad.
Makar is obviously an elite offensive talent but we are missing him tonight. Bouchard's passing and shot would be a nice addition as long as he leaves his brain farts at home.

Canadian goaltending has been sliding downhill for 20 years now.

There has never really been a lot of depth, especially the last 10 years, but we always had that one stud we could rely on.

Now? A goalie on a PDO heater is the best we got and he isn’t even here.

It's curious though, because we have a steady supply of elite players in other positions. Not goalies though. Meanwhile the Americans are an elite goalie factory

The time is slowly just going to die off the clock if we don’t start shooting.
