Big Solid RW from Michigan State. Can hopefully help Bridgeport for next year.
I was thinking that over the weekend watching BU, he may not be as good as his brothers but it couldn't hurt to take a shot on him.Not a guy I thought would get anything more than an AHL deal.
Michigan State was very good as a shutdown team this winter. That is where their success resonated from (by and large), so Larson is not the only one on the squad who scored less than what may have been expected.
Even Dorwart only had 7 more points.
Still, as a junior, he had the fewest goals and points of his career to date.
That said, Gatcomb played 4 years of college hockey and never had more than 8 goals and 21 points in a season, so it doesn't have to mean a thing if Larson puts in the work.
Hope they still go after a Quinn Hutson.

Quinn is my guy. I think he has legit NHL potential. Not a guy I thought would get anything more than an AHL deal.

It’s par for the course when signing older college free agents. They usually do that to earn a higher payday sooner. It’s a bit of a gamble for both sides but it happens regularly in this situations with undrafted guys.A one year deal hardly smells of great belief in him, does it?
Also he is 24, age limited on the ELCIt’s par for the course when signing older college free agents. They usually do that to earn a higher payday sooner. It’s a bit of a gamble for both sides but it happens regularly in this situations with undrafted guys.
I do want to highlight the difference between e.g. Gatcomb and Quinn Hutson. If Gatcomb can become an above average penalty killer (he has the necessary physical traits, but he's got to prove he can do it), he can have an NHL career simply by being big, fast, finishing his checks, and keeping it simple. I've watched BU a bunch, and while Quinn Hutson has that Hutson hockey sense, I don't think has the extraordinary elusiveness of his youngers bros, nor does he seem to be a Zuccarello level puck wizard. His path to the NHL isn't going to be easy.Yep, there are a handful of us who have been hammering on the "Sign Quinn Hutson in the spring" door since last fall.
He's having a monster season and will likely have plenty of suitors.

I ... don't know anything about Joey Larsen - been watching only hockey east!
