Forming Three Good Lines...

With the amount of talent in the top six, there's no reason for the Leafs to not have two good scoring lines when the big four forwards and Knies are healthy. I think based on the chemistry he's established with Tavares, Pacioretty should be a fixture on line two (at least for now - maybe they can alternate him and McMann if he has a slump).

Is there enough remaining talent to have a good third line? If Domi can get back to playing like he did last year and McMann can progress, there should be. Minten seems ready to be an NHL regular. Between Domi, McMann, Minten, Jankrok, Alex Nylander and Robertson, there should be enough talent to have three players that can contribute offensively to that line. Will a trade be needed before the deadline to strengthen the bottom six?

When McMann is ready to go, I'd try:

Knies - Matthews - Marner
Patches - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Minten - McMann

Line Combos: - 2024-2025 Lineup Combos

Can't seem to find a thread/place to talk about potential line combos and practice lines going on, please merge if I am wrong. Glad to see Reaves out of the lineup, I also think that 3rd line can actually bring some desperately needed secondary scoring.

L1 is sucking
L2 works just as good with Marner
L3 doesn't seem remarkable.

The amount of talent is still the problem.

Nylander/Minten/Marner
Paciorrety/Tavares/Domi
*Reaves, McMann

Matthews should be able to get his numbers playing with anyone. At the amount they're making Nylander and Marner should be able to drag Minten to thirty goals and fifty points easily. If Tavares can't dominate the lesser competition in a third line capacity without having an eleven million dollar winger beside him then he isn't worth re-signing for any money.

They asked for the big bucks so now let them earn it.

Oh, I like this idea. Have Lorenz, Kampf McMann as the 4th line

I wouldn't even have a fourth line.

Just the two extra wingers for subs. Keep rolling the three lines. The objective is to have the best player on the ice at all times.

Berube would probably be okay running an 11-7 roster every night.

I’d prefer to separate them and have Domi and Knies with Matthews. Put Marner in Willy’s spot and have Willy run the third , but for that to happen we’d need a more skilled 3C

We don’t have a fourth line……at least not a good one
