Sad to hear about Rod Gilbert's passing. He was synonymous with NY Rangers hockey, and with NYC, for decades. A huge loss for the hockey world.

Was kind of underrated player. Scored 3+5 in 8 games at the Summit 72 series. Played his whole career for Spartak, so didn't win anything in USSR, but had a lot of games for Soviet Team. At age 31 moved to Japan and played there for 4 seasons.

Yeah, my bad. He won 2 championships in 60s, when Iwas too small to remember, and in 75-76 season, which I've forgotten about. My bad. Soviet Cup was a tournament, I didn't even remember about. Nobody cared about it.

Well, I was too young, when this game was played, I just remember since about middle of 70s the cup either gone or became too insignificant.
