Former player and NHL analyst Greg Millen has passed away

Millen was great on and off the ice, seemed to have such a love of the game, a real shame to lose him relatively early.
Also props to him for basically screwing a cage onto every available helmet type in the 80s. I remember him most in his Blues setup, but hilarious to see the range of buckets he rocked.

2 of my faves as a kid

Wow, totally unexpected. Loved watching him play and seemed like such a nice guy. RiP Greg you’ll be missed

According to The Peterborough Examiner he died of a heart attack:

"Greg Millen, 67, died Monday morning of a heart attack in a Bracebridge hospital where he was admitted after complaining of chest pains, according to family."

I figured it was that.

But he was at s hospital when it haporned. I know nothing on the care level of thid place.

Gonna miss him doing the colour for Flames games. Always called it real with no BS and a great sense of humour.

My favourite memory of his commentary will always be him butchering Varlamov's name during a Flames vs Islanders game, and then butchering it AGAIN the season after when the two teams met again. Had created a thread few years ago for this and watching it again brought back some laughs):

Rest in Peace Millsy.
