It is hard to play with only skills ... you need some heart ... you need some courage ... and then injuries and brain farts kick in ... I wonder if anyone gives him a shot as a winger if he can still skate as his hands are pretty good ... but there is ZERO chance he plays defense again... he really never was a defender

I think he would fail as a winger. Winger's tend to get hit more than defense and we ALL know how Jake feels about those tough areas whether some posters will admit it or not.

I don't know how bad he was hurt and how much it impacted his speed on ice ... but i hear he was an all world centre as a kid through high school in Minny ...

Not sure where you got your information, but not even close to correct. Never played center and did not get college offers until he switched to D between a his grade 11 and 12 years.

His dad i think his name was John said he was his coach growing up and he told me like 3-4 years ago at a MLSE camp at Ford
