Former Ducks (2024-25 edition)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Congrats to Cam and family.

Btw, I only caught a short recap of the commercial break tribute to Cam the other night against the Bluse... was it me, or did he not get a very robust reception? I know he wasn't exactly a fan favorite, but from the small amount i saw, it only looked like maybe half the arena was standing and/or clapping for him.

Noticed that the Kings have the 3rd worst power play in the league this season, after finishing 11th last year and 4th the year before that. I’ll give you one guess at who they hired this offseason to coach it…

I was surprised he was hired to be their PP coach considering how he failed here for several seasons. Maybe AGM Solomon put in a great word for him with the Kings, whom Solomon used to work for?

I feel like we have used a half dozen PP coaches over the last couple seasons. Who will be the one to stick?

2021-22 under Ward we also had a good PP if I remember right.

We had two PP coaches for 2021-22 in Ward and Brown. We know which one was the head honcho between the two.

Why did Geoff Ward leave again? I always saw him talking to the forwards on the bench, seemed like they had a lot of respect for him. Might've been a bigger loss for the team than is talked about or thought of.

Geoff left for personal reasons after the 2021-22 season. And then decided to go to Swiss league in Nov 2022. I talked about losing Ward after he quit the org was an important piece. But some people were deranged to keep saying it was Eakins' fault for a bad PP unit until last season. With a new PP coach, those same people are saying Cronin is responsible for the PP coach. SMH... we just went through this with Brown!

I was at a wedding last weekend outside St. Louis for my buddy I went to high school with who has lived in Missouri for 15+ years. He thanked me for giving them Fowler and said Fowler is their best defensemen.

Talked to a few other guys that said the same thing. I always said he would go to another team and get the appreciation he deserves. Obviously it was time for him to go, but I wish he could have gotten a cup here.

classic case of a change of scenery doing wonders for a guy. it was obvious fowler was mailing it in towards the end here knowing his future was unclear

I don't believe Fowler was mailing it in, but rather Fowler's role changed. He went from two-way OFD to babysitting DFD, which isn't his game at all. In St. Louis, he's playing back at his OFD role again. Silf share a similar situation of playing a two-way F who can score 20 goals for a playoff Anaheim to a shutdown guy in the rebuild. Now, he's back on a playoff team in the SHL and his goal scoring and scoring have revived. Just different roles being played.
