Only the Rangers, Habs, Maple Leafs and Blackhawks worth more.

Forbes made one error saying attendance was up at TD Garden last season but that was because of the game at Gillette.

In 2015-16, the Bruins missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season, but still posted average attendance of 18,776 at TD Garden, 7% more than the previous year. The Bruins also charge an average of $90 for non-premium tickets, second only to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Missing the playoffs did hurt television ratings, where the Bruins notched an average of 3.45 on NESN, a 23% drop versus 2014-15. Still, Boston had the fifth-highest cable rating in the NHL last season.

I'm just going to assume that Fenway and Gee Wally's combined B's stock is worth $80 million. ;)

How are the Bruins worth only $800.
They own 20% of NESN, which is ~$150M dollars, and the Garden ($600M?), what the worth of the Hockey Team? $35.99?

Jacobs and his wife own the Bruins.

TD Garden is owned by Delaware North which is a family owned business.

The is the value of the team alone. Not Delaware North as a whole.

And Delaware North Boston is a separate entity from Sportservice (concessions).

The 10 million he paid in 1975 was for everything ( $2 million in cash ) and the entire Boston operation might be worth $1.5 - 2 billion. Jacobs is clear on one thing, the family will NEVER sell Boston.

It was built in 95 at a cost of $160 million. Not sure it's appreciated that much in the time since. But I'm not a real estate guy so I'm just guessing.

They already owned the land, and the Finished product would be worth more than the sum of its parts.
For reference, Condo Prices went from ~120K to ~350k between 1996 and 2011. Since 2011 real estate has gotten much more expensive. So for the value to triple in 20 years isn't out of line for Boston.

Jacobs does own the land, it is owned by the MBTA ( Commonwealth of Massachusetts) and that dates back to 1928 when the first Garden was built over the railroad tracks at North Station.

However he owns the development rights to the land. Jacobs also built North Station as part of the lease he has with the MBTA.

If you're talking about a condo, a tripling in value seems reasonable. When you're talking about a multi, multi million dollar arena, I'm not sure I see it.

But in any event, as Donnie S said, the 800 million is the value of the team, without the value of the arena, so I'm not sure it matters how much it's worth.
