Wink has resigned

I'll go against the grain and say he was a huge part of the problem this year. I'm ok with this. Rumors of him butting heads with the head coach, if true, are unacceptable even if ots justified. You don't undermine the head guy.

I want what I want
Eh, I tend to think of the long game as well, but truthfully it’s a bit of a crapshoot if you don’t have a generational guy like Luck up top. There have been plenty of misses in the top 5 and plenty of hits in the 8th-12th spots. Could NE draft the next Josh Allen? Sure. They are just as likely to pick the next Zach Wilson, Darnold, Trubisky, Mayfield, Rosen etc… we got a talent like Garrett Wilson at 10 two years ago. A guy like Olave was available even later. Lawrence was the grand slam 1OA and look at the season he just had. Where was TJ Watt picked? Rangers would have been better off not winning the lottery for Kakko. I know it’s easy to look at mocks and feel like they screwed the pooch, but that’s not necessarily the case.

Would I prefer to pick a handful of slots higher? Of course, but there’s no guarantee they’d end up with a better player.

As it relates to QBs, of the 14 teams that made the playoffs this year:

Half (7) of the QBs were drafted outside the top 10. Three of those outside the first round.
Three QBs were drafted 1OA in their draft but funny enough, none of them are with the team that drafted them.
Of the four additional top-ten drafted QBs, none were the first drafted QB in their class.
The two teams with the best odds to win the SB (per Vegas) are the 49ers and Ravens who sport Brock Purdy (Mr. Irrelevant) and Lamar Jackson who was not only the last pick in the 1st round but the 5th QB taken in his draft year.

This is the kind of draft where you can find your guy beyond the #1 or #2 picks.

Daniels is an elite talent and athlete. He also has a pretty damn good arm. Penix has elite accuracy and a strong arm. Bo Nix is a little of both, but not that natural arm talent these two have. JJ McCarthy is the more cerebral QB, but is a good athlete too. Ewers might come out too, but I think he stays.

Seems like Dabes has some issues with multiple people. While the defense was terrible early I thought it was the biggest reason the Giants had a chance to win games in the second half.

It's a mess. Giants having a lot of drama lately. Honestly they should all just take a week off and keep things in house/no press for a few months.
I think Dabes has a quirky personality that rubbed several coaches and players the wrong way. I agree with you. Time for Schoen to step in and stop the public stuff.

I'd scoop him up in a minute for defensive coordinator of the Giants. Likely he reunites with Bill in NE, though.
You’d think he’d be at or near the top of the list for most teams with a head coaching vacancy.

If I were him, I’d be all over that San Diego job. Great lifestyle location and a starting QB. Although, I could see Washington in play as well. New coach and drafting a new QB up top.

Vrabel is also an alpha personality. Daboll having problems with people might not lend to that being a good marriage anyway…

A Jets fan must have put together this analysis.
I'm not exactly a fan of PFF, but they're contracted by like every pro and college football team out there. The issue with them is that at least for their player grades they use opinion and qualitative metrics and not just their quantitative analysis for scoring people. I don't pay for their shit though so I couldn't tell you if that's the case in this ranking.

In any event, slide each unit down a couple notches and it tells the same story: one of the NFL's elite defenses combined with an absolute trash fire offense.
