OT: Football thread (2024 season)

Chiefs looking like they thought this was in the bag. They’re gonna have to find their will or this is going to get ugly. Maybe Kelce should show up to the game looking like a football player instead of a 70’s pornstar who’s already thinking about his post-playing career as a cheesy commercial actor and trophy husband to a billionaire. His stats have fallen off with age, but it’s tough to wonder if it’s age or focus, and his performance so far tonight is trash. Not that anyone on KC is doing better. Turn it up it and make it at least interesting, or I’m only watching the commercials.

Here’s some trivia - how many times has Mahomes been sacked 3 times and thrown a pick in just six downs?

Chiefs go to the half 17-0 I have limited hope they can achieve anything in the second. They go to the half down more than that - as I type a STUPID personal foul after the play - they are “capital eff” ucked. This is really poor. Especially for the hype machine that is KC.

Eagles just dominate the trenches. Until a team can stand up in the trenches its hard for them to lose. Hope Andy and Spags have some ideas on how to turn this around during the half. Going to be a long half so they better make use of it.
 
I really wish I had more respect for Kendrick because I’m okay with hip hop and he’s a talented lyricist but I wish guys like him would own the fact that they’re nerdy and intelligent and stop trying to behave as if they’re hard. They’re not in any way. Drake is a whiter than black kid who grew up with his Jewish mother acting in Degrassi in Toronto but wears braids and grills. But when he first hit it big he was practically more singer than rapper. Just be yourself. Let your talent and intelligence carry itself. J Cole. 2 Chains. Drop the act.

Like Drake was an actor. J Cole and 2 Chainz went to great colleges. Kendrick is 5’5 and engaged to his high school sweetheart. You guys are all more artsy nerds than yoh are thugs. Own it. Stop promoting crap.

I should have just watched something else. Maybe it's just me getting old and yelling at clouds but this half time show is awful.

At least I moved far away from Philly because KC ain't coming back from this mess.

The team is about the defense and O-line. Saquon is a distant third in the reason they're good. You listen to the media you think this is Barry Sanders. This game is proving that he's not what people think he is. The Eagles are dismantling the Chiefs with Barkley doing absolutely nothing.

- Born in south side Chicago
- Moved to Compton in the 90s because his dad was part of the Disciples
- Lived in poor housing, welfare, etc, surrounded by gangs
- Young through the LA riots watching people get murdered
- Got inadvertently pulled into a gang war and couldn't avoid that kind of culture

- Did well in school...

Not saying this is the hardest thing that could happen to a person, but I personally wouldn't want to grow up in that kind of life and for him, it comes out in his music.

Never count out KC. But I'll be glad if they finally go down.

Does this keep mahomes from rarified Brady air?

It was an abomination. SZA is talented and has far more stage presence than Lamar. He tries to sound suave or smooth, like Fabolous, but sounds more like a mumbling Eminem. I don’t think I understood a single word that came out of his mouth; and I can understand every word Twista has uttered in his songs.

There is no reason the Chiefs should have thought this was in the bag. The Eagles are universally considered a better team outside of the QB position.
