I agree. When Chytil gets back, Laf - Chytil - Kakko? Panarin and Strome are clearly a duo together, either they want it or Quinn wants it.

I thought Kakko and Panarin just don't have chemistry at all. Nothing wrong with that.

I think the main issues:

1)Offensively sloppy. Poor positioning, and anticpation. Setups are in slow motion and telegraphed.

2)Awful AWFUL transition game, which leads to...

3)the refusal to maintain a forecheck and go to the dirty areas...

Seemed like a largely even game. Flyers a bit better to start but NYR battled back. Not super encouraging given the Flyers were coming off a long layoff but better than the opposite.

Ryan Lindgren 2nd dman on in 3-on-3. No offense to him but that says it all.
