Everyone wants to be macho.

Frankly, I don't know why everyone isn't wearing a full cage. It would prevent so many injuries out there. Why potentially ruin a $40-50 million career with one unlucky hit to the eye when there's perfectly good gear in place to protect against it?

Team owners can already make it mandatory. They can scratch/trade a player who refuses to wear a visor.

The player is the one with the MOST at stake here. They're the one who can take a life altering injury. Ultimately it should be their choice. Fans have absolutely no right to be saying things like visors should be mandatory.

Why? By that logic we can't say things like helmets should be madatory.
